Blane Chapter 5: Dale's House
|
Blane followed Dale’s instructions. When Dale opened the window for him, he slowly and quietly climbed through it. Dale closed the window behind him. Dale was with no t-shirt and some light blue pajama bottoms. Blane was really turned on.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” asked Dale
“Um, I, um,” Blane was distracted by Dale’s smooth torso. “Um, can you put a t-shirt on, I can’t concentrate.” said Blane
“Um, sure, sorry.” said Dale, trying not to laugh at how cute Blane was being. “So, now I have a shirt on. What did you want to talk about?” asked Dale
“My dad wants to send me to a place where they’re supposed to turn me straight. I don’t know how soon he’s going to want to send me so I came here to say if he sends me tonight, I’ll be thinking about you everyday that I’m there.” said Blane
“I was going to ask you to the junior prom though.” said Dale
“You were? How sweet, I would say yes, but I just don’t know when my dad is going to send me and if that’s tonight, then I guess that this is goodbye, for a while.” said Blane
Junior prom was in one week, the next Saturday. Dale was planning to ask Blane, but Blane’s father’s plans got in the way. Dale didn’t want to say goodbye, but he knew that if he didn’t he might not get the chance back. So, Dale kissed Blane as if it was the last time he would ever kiss anyone, even though he wasn’t the one being sent away. In the middle of their kiss, someone began wildly knocking on the front door; it was Larry, Blane’s father.
“Blane! I know you’re in there!” yelled Larry
“Oh my God, it’s my dad.” said Blane
“He’s going to wake everyone up.” said Dale
“I’m sorry.”
Dale’s cousin Jake opened the door
“Is there a reason that you’re knocking on my door at three in the morning mister.” said Jake
“My son is with you’re son, I want him back.” said Larry
“I don’t have a son, I have two daughters.” said Jake
“Oh, yes you do. What was that boy’s name Daniel?” asked Larry to Daniel, who was right next to him.
“Dale Adams” said Daniel
“Oh, Dale; Dale is my little cousin.” said Jake
“Well then let me in, I want to look for my boy.” said Larry
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do that.” said Jake
“But my boy is in there.” said Larry
“No he isn’t, I would know if your boy is in here.” said Jake
Just then, Dale and Blane walked up behind Jake.
“Yes he is.” said Dale
“Blane, you’re coming home with me.” said Larry
“Okay.” said Blane “I’m sorry for all of this mister. It won’t happen again.” said Blane to Jake
Blane got into the backseat of his father’s car, with Daniel in the front passenger seat. The whole ride home was awkwardly quiet. It was when they arrived, that the drama ensued.
“What in the hell where you doing with that boy!” yelled Larry
“I was saying goodbye since you’re going to ship me away.” said Blane
“You are?” asked Daniel to Larry
“Of course I was. Did you think I was just going to sit back and let your brother be a sissy.” said Larry
“But dad, you can’t send him away.” said Daniel
“I didn’t listen to your mother when she said it, what makes you think that I’m going to listen to you. My decision is final. You know what, I’m taking you right now.” said Larry
“Okay, I’ll go pack my things.” said a depressed Blane.
“Dad!” yelled Daniel
Blane went to the place without even questioning his father. He knew that nothing was going to change who he is, so he really wasn’t afraid of going. But he was going to miss Dale. He was going to miss Dale’s smile, his voice, and even the awkward silences between them.
