Okay Sorry for taking so long. I think I told you about the virus right? Yepp so I wont tell you again (:
The next day, I got up late. Not a surprise though since I was up all night thinking about that day with Tanner. I quickly took a shower, taking my time and not caring about how late I was.
When I got out, I brushed my teeth then I dressed in my Aero mini skirt with a baby blue polka dotted under shirt and a white American Eagle shirt that said “Too Fast For Love”.
My white skulled flip flops was barely on when I ran to my car. Now I was caring about the time.
I parked then ran into the high school. I took what I needed from my locker and ran to first hour. The teacher was in the middle of a discussion when I walked in.
I know what your thinking, the teacher will now say: “Glad you can join us Ms. Casadee.” Just like in every story and every movie you’ve watched. But no, he didn’t say anything. Next thing I knew he gave me a detention slip.
How suckish is that?
I took my seat, aware of Tanner’s eyes on me, watching my every move. I finally got the courage to look at him and he didn’t do anything. He just well, stared.
I couldn’t look at his eyes anymore without blushing so I turned away. After class, I walked to my locker.
“Monique. What happened? Why are you so late, girl?” Nicole said, catching up to me.
“Ahh, couldn’t sleep.” Nicole shrugged and we walked to our lockers. “Couldn’t sleep, huh?” I heard a voice behind me. Tanner. I turned around.
“Me either.” He said and gave a little nod like all guys do. Then he smiled and gave a little wave. “See you at detention.” Then walked away.
“So, what’s up with you and the new kid?” Nicole sat across from me at lunch, opening a bag of chips.
I kept chewing on my cookie and stared straight ahead at Tanner, sitting next to Sean Malloy, one of my other friends.
“I don’t even know.” I told her and bit my cookie. Tanner nodded at something Sean said then turned and caught my gaze. He smiled then turned back around to Sean and said something.
Which made Sean look at me, then turn back to Tanner and gave him a high five. What? I thought. Did they think I was a score. Damn bastards. Damn hot bastards.
“Well, he made a move right? Like try to hold your hand and try to ask you out? Did he?” Nicole took a sip of her monster.
I looked away from Tanner. “He held my hand. He kissed me too.” I dropped the cookie and chewed a gummy bear.
“Huh? For real? Well, he works fast.” She said. “Did he ask you out?”
“No.” I replied. “If he did, I wouldn’t have said yes, though. He’s not my kind of guy.”
Nicole laughed. “Monique, seriously. What is your kind of guy? Tanner’s hot and from what I’ve heard he’s really nice. So come on. Who would say no to that?”
I thought about how he handeled Cody and the way he acts toward me. Who could say no to that?
The bell rang and then another then another. Time for detention.
“So everyone shut up and don’t talk. Your stuck here for an hour. Do homework or something.” The detention teacher said.
I got out my social studies homework and started doing that.
Call me a nerd or what not but I actually want and have to get good grades or I just go blah! If that’s a word.
Tanner, sitting in front of me, threw a piece of paper over his shoulder. “Hey!” I hissed, silently. He turned and gave me a wink then turned back around to tap on the desk.
I opened the paper and smiled at the words.
“Dinner at 8:00?”
