Red. What a colour it is. It reprsents and portrays so many different things. Red is the colour for blood...lust...passion...love...hatred...anger...violence...body tissue and finally... Revenge.

My names Richard Hamel and this is my story of how I saved all 5 members of my family. Its a true story thats full of the colour Red.

CHAPTER ONE

Darkness and beeping. These are the two things I hear and see as I wake. I try to open my eyes, but they feel too heavy. Where am I? What happened? I eventually open my eyes but barely see anything as I try to look through my dazed and blurred eyesight. I see I'm lying on a bed in an empty dank, dark and devilishly quiet room. I turn my head to the left and see an empty chair and a painting on the wall of a seascape. Obviously an ill attempt at making the person on the bed feel relaxed and at home. I turn my head to the right and notice a bedside table with a few things cluttered ontop of its surface aswell as a telephone. I turn my head and look forwards at the door with a slight glow around its edges from the bright corridor. I must be in a hospital ward. But why? I dont remember anything before this. I was just at a family re-union and drinking a few John Smiths. How could I get from there to here? Did I drink too much and become paraletic? No! Corse I didn't! I'm not like that. It's very unlikely that happened.

I look back at the bedside table and notice buried beneath the magazines a letter with a name on it in fluid, wet ink. 'Richard'. I pick up the letter and begin to open the letter. I slip out a piece of paper and unfold it. There is more red writing on the inside. The letter reads, "Richard. I know who you are. You dont know who I am. Ring this number at 11am. Dont be late or you will regret it." Below this writing was a phone number. I divert my gaze away from the letter and look at a ticking clock on the grey wall. It's 10:58am! I throw the letter to the table and pick up the phone and begin bashing in the numbers. My pulse begins to race and pick up pace. It rings...
