They only ran into one problem, though they ran into it again and again… Lycanthropes.
“Tyra…” Kiandra stuttered out, looking wide-eyed.
“I already told you… I’m not stopping until we are at least halfway there…” Tyra replied, looking at the road speeding under her car.
“No, Tyra, pull over now… I can see them… Turn out the light, quick!” Kiandra whispered frantically, and Tyra did as she said.
“What can you see, Kiandra?” Adrian whispered, nearly inaudible, to human ears. Lyndon looked anxiously around, unbuckling his seatbelt.
“Tyra, switch me places, quickly now!’ he whispered hurriedly, opening his door and moving to hers, opening it as well.
“All right…. I don’t see the fuss…” Tyra trailed off, switching places with him, soon Kiandra felt it was safe again, and they continued on, darkness slowly following.
“Kiandra, what did you see?” Adrian asked her again after awhile.
“The worst thing possible… Lycanthropes.” Kiandra looked back at Adrian, her eyes dull.
“Not possible, Kiandra…. Not possible. They have a treaty with us; they won’t allow themselves to be seen.” Tyra muttered, looking anywhere but at Adrian.
“Tyra…” he muttered after a few hours.
“What?” she muttered back, looking over at him eventually, seeing his hurt gave staring at her.
“Why didn’t you tell me? Why are you still making me leave?” Adrian asked, looking at her still, when she didn’t answer he loooed out his window.
“I didn’t know you felt that strongly… You didn’t need to know. You still tried to kill him… You cannot stay right now, perhaps you’ll be able to come back in a few months. Maybe a year. When we there... I must awaken Diana, she'll be able to help." Tyra answered after a long pause.
“How could you not know? I made it so obvious! Everyone else could tell… You just couldn’t,” Adrian replied, “I won’t be coming back, you want me gone, I’ll leave. Done, end.” His eyes met with hers, and she was shocked by the changes she saw there, they were now dark, yet unfeeling.
“I am far denser than you think, Adrian.” Was all she replied before looking back out the window, Adrian just gazed at her, before looking forward to see a lycan heading straight for their car.
