Tyra and Adrian picked up Edward’s body easily, slinging it over a couch.
“How are we going to get him back to the coven?” Tyra asked, looking at the body with a different look in her eyes now.
“Bring him back to the coven? No, we will leave him here, as usual, we never bring them back, you know that,” Adrian told her, not liking the look she gave the barely living Edward.
“Since when? We always bring them back… Why should we not bring this one? He is divine,” Tyra stated, her eyes still gazing over Edward’s face, Adrian getting more and more upset.
“I’ll carry him then, if he means so much to you.”
“Thank you, Adrian, and I’m glad you didn’t like the red head,” Tyra said, smiling at him.
“Anything for you, my lady… Anything,” Adrian muttered, hauling Edward onto his shoulders and they began making their way discreetly home.
“Tyra…Adrian… Who is that?” Kiandra asked, looking up from her chess game with Lyndon. She looked curiously from Edward, to Adrian, to Tyra, her eyes lingering on hers, sensing something more than the plain look on her face suggested there was.
“Our lunch, nothing more,” Adrian replied before Tyra could answer, “He will be staying in the ‘guest’ room for the time being. I will stay with him for now.” Adrian said begrudgingly, and started to walk down the corridor to the guest room.
“Did something happen, Tyra?” Kiandra asked as Lyndon headed down the hall after Adrian.
“Not that I noticed… What do you think of Edward? I think I might turn him…” Tyra asked quietly, watching after Edward more than Adrian or Lyndon.
“You? Turn him? You don’t even know him!” Kiandra said angrily, looking at Tyra in a mixture of absolute anger and shock, she had never seen Tyra break her own rules.
“I may have met him today… But I feel as though I’ve known him… I feel as though I should care more… I should make him immortal, immediately.” Tyra said with suddenly understanding eyes. She started down the corridor after Adrian and Lyndon.
“Move, let me set him down at the least.” Adrian grunted at Lyndon as Tyra walked in, dumping Edward none too carefully on the bed. Tyra said nothing, just walked in straight to Edward, a knife in hand. “Tyra, what are you doing? Don’t tell me I carried him here for you to kill him!” Adrian said, even though his tone was upset his eyes gleamed with joy, and anger, at the thought. Joy that his competition was to die, angry that he wasn’t the one to kill him.
“Just the opposite,” Tyra replied, a smile on her face. She reached her arm out, placing her wrist above Edward’s mouth; she cut into it, letting the blood flow down her wrist and into his mouth, running down his throat. Tyra smiled as Edward’s eyes fluttered open, a mixed expression on it. Tyra looked at Edward, standing straight again as he got his bearings. The next thing happened quite suddenly, Adrian’s face went from quiet amusement to pure anger, and he launched himself at Edward. Edward stumbled and fell off the bed, rolling safely under it, Tyra pulling Adrian away, her eyes an icy blue, as though two frozen ponds, as they often did when she was angry. “Adrian! If you continue this behavior I will be forced to take action against you! You do not want to be joining Selene, do you?” Tyra yelled at Adrian, who shrank away, then had a blank expression, unable to feel anything. His “life’s” work had been cut away in mere hours. Tyra would never be his; Edward had stolen that from him.
“I challenge him…” Adrian muttered out hoarsely, his own eyes a bright green, as they often became when he was angry, “Please… I challenge him…” he trailed off, knowing when he should be silent.
“Why in the world would you want to challenge him?” Tyra said, still oblivious about everything.
“Don’t you see, Tyra?” Lyndon said, the first words about this subject he had said, “He loves you… And you ignore him, he’s no more than a servant to you, and now you have a new toy, a new source of blood, and he feels threatened. We all saw it, how didn’t you?” Lyndon asked, his own eyes darkening slightly in annoyance. (Vamphyre’s eyes can tell a lot about them, their mood for one.)
“He… You do?” Tyra asked, looking at Adrian differently, as though seeing how that would wound him.
“Yes… Tyra I tried to tell you… I could never find the words. And now him…” Adrian trailed off, looking again at Edward, still hidden under the bed.
“Kiandra, send Adrian to my sister’s coven, that is where he shall now reside.” Tyra told Kiandra, ignoring Adrian completely now.
“Tyra… Don’t do this…” Kiandra and Lyndon both said at once.
“Too late, it is done. I shall not have an insanely jealous man here. It is dangerous enough when they are human, even worse when vamphyre. He’s not going to be allowed to stay when he will be a dangerous threat to my new vamphyre. He will be sent to my sister’s coven, that is final.” Tyra stated, not allowing anyone to reply.
“…Fine… But if he goes… I go too.” Lyndon said, walking out, Adrian slowly following. Kiandra looked at Tyra sadly.
“You know I’d follow any orders, Tyra… But this is too much, I’m leaving too, Lyndon and Adrian are my family, I stay with them.” She said as she walked out as well, leaving Tyra to stand and think on what had occurred. Only Edward was left in the room, still crouched under the bed, scared.
Tyra walked over and knelt by the bed, looking under it at Edward, “It’s all right… You can come out, Edward.” She murmured, reaching a hand under the bed to help him out.
“I didn’t… Didn’t mean to cause problems… I’m sorry, Tyra, Elizabeth, whoever you are.”
“It’s not your fault, and my name is Tyra.”
“If it wasn’t for me-” Edward started, before Tyra cut him off.
“If it wasn’t for you I’d still be completely oblivious, it’s better this way.” Tyra stated firmly, pulling Edward out, “You may stay in this room for now… I must make sure everyone gets on their way.” She walked out silently, heading towards the main hall, making sure to keep Adrian well within sights. She didn’t want him to be able to go back to the room and “deal” with Edward.
