The next morning, Allie woke up early. She didn't know what Nick's dad was like sober. She wanted to know.

Nick only got three hours of sleep last night. He was worried, but wasn't sure why. He only hoped that nothing will go wrong.

Allie took her daily shower. She got dressed and put her face on, thinking about Nick half the time. Suddenly, her phone rings. She gets up from her make up desk and walks over to her phone.

The caller ID says: Blocked Call

"Hello?" She says.

"Hey."

"Oh.."

"What?" Nick asks.

"I didn't know it was you."

"Why not?"

"The caller ID said blocked call. I wasn't sure who it was."

"Sorry, when I call people, it does that sometimes."

"That's okay." Allie smiled.

"So, I'm going to come pick you up in a few minutes. Are you ready?"

"Uh, yea. I just have to get my shoes on then I'll be ready to leave."

"Great, I'm going to leave right now, so I'll see you in a little bit."

"Okay."

"Hey!" Nick said quickly.

"Yea?"

"I love you."

"I love you too." Allie giggles.

"Bye."

"Bye." She hung up the phone then hurried over to her closet. She put her light green flip flops on. She then rushed out of her room and down the stairs.

She opened her front door and sat on her porch, waiting for Nick to arrive at her house.

Nick had just left his house and started walking up the sidewalk to her house. It was a warm, beautiful day. Nick wanted to ask his dad a question about something to do with Allie. How would he do it if she was comeing along with him. He would have to think about it later.

He was staring at the ground as he was walking, which made him to not see much in front of him. Suddenly, he bumps into someone. A man. Nick looks up. It's Mark. Mark stares at him, not saying a word. They both just look at each other.

"What to say?" They both wondered.

Nick steps up though. Says the first and last words he plans to say to Mark's face.

"Sorry." That's all Nick had to say.  He walks around him and doesn't look back.

"Nick?" He hears a voice, comeing from behind him. He stops walking. Looks at the ground for just a second, then turns around.

"Me too." Mark says.

Nick glares at him for a few seconds. Seeing that his face was very serious. Not a grin, no smirking it. He starts walking back to Mark and stops in front of him and looks at him very closely.

"What did you say?" He asks him.

"I'm sorry." Mark said again.

Nick blinks several times very tightly, steps back from him a little then steps back closer.

"Are you okay?" Mark asks.

"Yea. I'm just.. shocked a little. Very shocked actually. Uhh.."

"You don't have to say anything else. I really am sorry. For everything I did. I never meant to.."

"Yea." Nick nodded his head. "Listen, I'm sorry about the whole, fight thing the other day."

"Oh, I deserved that. I was a jerk. I deserved every punch."

"Yea, uh.. I really should be going. My dad is in the hospitle and I have to be there."

"Oh, alright."

"Thanks." Nick said before walking away again.

Mark went his way and Nick started walking quickly towards Allie's house again.

Allie was getting bored, waiting for Nick to show up. She stood up and walked off her porch then started walking up the street. When she got to the end of it, she looked in the direction Nick should be walking. She didn't see him.

"Where is he?" She thought. She walked farther out of her street and looked down the road. She saw someone walking. She sqwinted her eyes so she could really see who it was. It wasn't Nick. At least it didn't look like him. The man got closer and she realized she didn't know who he was. It was an old man. He walked by her and smiled. She smiled back then looked up the road again. There was another man. She looked closely again. It was Nick!

She started running towards him. She stopped and took the flip flops off her feet so she could get to him faster.

"Hey!" Nick smiled.

When she reached him, she jumped up in his arms and wrapped her legs around his wasit and kissed him. Nick held onto her body tightly, surprised that she just did what she did.

"I missed you." She said then started kissing him more.

"I missed you too." He kissed her back and put her back on the ground.

"I love you." She said while looking up at him, having her arms tightly around his waist. She slipped her flip flops back on her feet.

"I love you." He smiled.

They both started walking to the hospitle, holding hands, bumping there bodys close to each other at random moments. Stoping to kiss and tell one another how much they were in love.

When they reached the hospitle, they both went to the front desk and Nick told the person at the desk all the information that he needed to give and she aloud both of them to go back and see his father. They both walked down the hall to his dad's room.

Nick stopped Allie and kissed her before they went into the room, not knowing how long it would be before he got to kiss her again. He didn't want to take a risk.

"Nick!" His dad smiled when he saw him walk in. "Who's your friend?"

Nick knew that his dad wouldn't remember Allie, so he told him everything about her. "This is, Allie. Her and I are dating." Nick held her hand and smiled.

"I'm Nick's dad." He smiled at her and held out a hand for her to shake. She shook his hand and smiled, likeing him better when sober.

"How long have you two been dating?" He asked either of them.

"Umm.." Allie studdered.

"Uhh, we dated for about a month, then something came up so we stopped dating. But here we are now." Nick helped her out.

"Oh. Well the good news is that you're going good now."

Nick and Allie looked at each other, smiled and said, "Yea."

The three of them sat in the room for hours and just talked about, well.. anything that came to mind. They talked about how him and Allie met. What they did. Well, not certain things, just.. what they did almost everyday before they first broke up.

The nurse came in and told them that it was just about 9:00 P.M.

Allie was surprised of how fast the time went by. She was having fun. The nurse told them that they would have to take Nick's dad home in about an hour.

"I'm going to go to the bathroom." Allie said.

Nick watched her walk away. This was the perfect moment for him to ask his dad that question he wanted to ask him.

"Dad?" Nick continued. "Can I ask you something?"

His dad nodded his head.

"Uhh.. it's about mom."

His dad listened very, very closely.

".. and you." Nick added.

"What about me and your mom?"

"Alright, uhh.." Nick knew he had to hurry. Allie could walk back in at any second. "When you asked her to marry you, how did you.. umm.. when did you.." Nick thought this would be much easier to ask. How could he get this out? It wasn't a hard thing to talk about. Why all of a sudden was it hard to talk about?

"Nick..?"

"How did you do it?" He finally got it out.

"Why?"

"Just curious."

"Uhh.." His dad layed his head back on the pillow and looked up at the ceiling.

"Well, me and your mother were still in high school when I asked her. It was the night before our last prom. We were seniors. I was just about the same age as you are now."

"When did you realize that you wanted to marry her. I mean, how'd you know for sure?"

"I just knew. I loved her. She loved me. We were both in the same place. So, the night before prom I took her out, asked her the biggest question of my life, and she amazingly said yes to me. You think the question you just asked me was hard to get out, wait until you ask that question."

"Well.. thanks for making it harder." He smirked.

"When are you planning on asking her?" His dad smiled.

Nick looked at him quickly. "Who?"

"You know who I'm talking about, Nick."

"Allie?"

His dad nodded his head.

"Wha..What? No. NO! I mean, I don't know. It's hard. I love her. I'm sure for a fact that she loves me just as much. But, I don't know if right now would be the best time. Do you?"

"That's a question you should be asking yourself. What do you have to lose?"

"Everything." Nick said, refering that 'everything'  to Allie.

"If she really loves you, then as soon as possible would be the right time. Or not."

Nick looked at the floor and thought about things.

"You could wait a whole year, until after you've both graduated. That would be the smartest thing to do. But, is that what you really want? Can you wait that long?"

"I don't know. I'm not sure about this. It's all a little... it just makes me nervous. Thinking about her saying no. That would be the worst feeling. You know?"

"I know." Hid dad agreed.

Just then, Allie walked back in the room. "It took me forever to find the bathroom." She smiled.

Nick looked at his dad and his dad looked at him. They both had the same look on their faces.

"What? What's wrong?" Allie started to worry.

"Nothing, we were just talking about something." His dad told her.

"Um, maybe we should be leaving." Nick said.

A few minutes had past and they were driven home. Nick helped his dad into bed while Allie stayed in the living room.

"Want anything to drink?" Nick said while he walked into the kitchen and looked inside of the fridge.

"No, I'm fine, thank you." She said.

Nick closed the door to it then looked at her. "Are you sure?"

"Yea."

He walked over to her and sat beside her and looked at her.

"I love you." He said

"I love you too." She smiled.

Nick looked down at her hand and held it in his then looked back up at her.

"Listen, what are you doing on the night before the last prom we have?" He asked her.
