Allie turned around and saw Mark grinning. His grin was nothing like Nick's grin. Nick's grin always made her smile and laugh. Mark's grin was completly different. It made her scared and it made him look evil.

"So, what about that number?" Mark asked once more.

"Fine. Just don't call me tonight."

"What? You're going to give me your number but I can't call?"

"Exactly. Do not call."

Mark took a pen out of his pocket and gave her it. "Right it on my hand."

Giving Mark her number was like cutting off all of your hair. It made no since. When Allie wrote down the seventh number she realized that this would make it seem like she was over Nick. And to her, that was the worst feeling in the world.

She gave the pen back to him and looked at him.

"Why can't I call?" He asked.

"Because I don't want you to."

"Why not?"

"I'll see you tomorrow Mark." She said while walking towards her house.

The Next Morning

Allie woke up to the sound of her annoying alarm. She turned it off and got out of bed and went into the bathroom and took her every morning shower.

A few minutes later, she was done and back in her room picking out the clothes she would wear. She picked out her favorite jeans. The ones that had two holes where her knees were. She also picked out her favorite shirt.

When she looked her best, or at least as good as she could get herself to look, she grabbed her purse and her bag and rushed down stairs. She stopped at the front door and picked up her shoes.

She went outside and sat on the first step and put them on. She stood up and waited for one of her friends, Katie to pick her up.

About 5 minutes past and she was there. Allie walked towards Katie's car the got in. Lily and Tiffany, her other friends, were sitting in the back.

"Hey Allie." They all said.

"Hi. I'm so not looking forward for where today brings me." She said while shutting the car door.

"Why?" Lily asked.

"Okay, I'll tell you guys if you promise not to tell anyone. I mean anyone."

Katie started driving then they all promised not to tell anyone.

"Well, last night when I was walking home from the beach, I ran into Mark."

Katie slambed down on the breaks causeing all the girls to fly forward.

"Katie, what's your problam?" Tiffany yelled.

"Sorry guys?"

She started driving again.

"Anyway.." Allie continued. "You guys, he asked me out."

They all held into theirs sets to prepare for Katie to slam down on the breaks again.

"You guys, that isn't funny." Katie laughed.

"He did what?" Lily asked.

Tiffany looked at Lily and said, "He asked her out."

Lily looked at Tiffany.

"You need to listen, Lily." Tiffany added.

Allie and Katie laughed.

At The School Parking Lot

Katie parked and turned off the car. She was dreading the moment when she first walked into the school doors. She knew what her answer would be to Mark. She opened the door of the car and got out.

"Allie.." Lily said while getting out of the car too. "What are you going to tell Mark?"

"I'm not sure yet." She lied.

"But you told him that you'd give him an answer today. You don't have an answer. What are you going to do?" Lily panicked.

"Lily! Calm down. I'll come up with something. Don't worry.. okay. Calm yourself."

Tiffany and Katie laughed, then they all started walking towards the school.

Walking Threw The Doors

Kaite was the first of the four to walk into the school. Next was Tiffany, then Allie, and Lily.

Allie could feel eyes glaring over to there direction. Just because someone walked in, everyone had to look and see who it was. It made her very uncomfortable.

Allie looked around hoping she wouldn't see Mark. She wouldn't mind of she saw Nick, she wouldn't mind at all, only if he didn't talk to her again.

"I think we have to go to the office to get our locker numbers guys." Lily said.

They all started walking to the office.

On there way Allie saw Mark, but he didn't see her. Not just yet?

They all quickly went into the office so Mark wouldn't see Allie.

None of there lockers were beside each other. Allie's locker was downstairs, but Lily's, Tiffany's, and Katie's lockers were upstairs but not beside each other.

"This sucks." Tiffany complained.

"I know, our senior year is going to suck." Katie added.

"I'm going to go find my locker." Allie said while walking down the hall.

The others agreed and went to their lockers also.

Allie walked down the hall looking at each locker on both sides of the hall.

Looking for the locker #148. She was walking by #'s 125, 127, and 129. On the other side of the hall were #'s 124, 126, and 128.

"Having trouble." A voice came from behind her.

She looked around and it was Nick.

Allie's heart raced. She felt her face turn bright red. She rolled her eyes and kept walking on to find her locker.

"Allie." Nick said.

She ignored him, like he was never there.

"What? So now you're not even going to look at me?" He asked.

Allie looked at the lockers and she was getting close to her locker. Only eight more to go.

Nick followed her the whole way until she got there.

"Allie." He started. " Can I give you something?"

Allie looked at him in a weird way then looked back at her locker and started to open it.

"Ok, just don't smake me or anything." He back up a little then grabbed her hand and quickly put a peice of paper in it. then walked away.

Allie watched him walk away. When he turned the corner she unfolded the peice of paper and read it.

It said :

"Dear Allie,

                   I know that you may hate me now more than ever.
                   I know you think it's my fault, it kind of is, because
                   I went out with Megan. And that didn't help us at all.
                   I'm thinking about breaking up with her. Allie, it's you.
                   You're the girl I want. It's always been you, all along.
                   Meet me outside by the oak tree during 1st lunch.
                   I'll understand if you don't show up. That's how I'll
                   know it's really over between us.

Allie folded up the note and put it in her back right pocket. She shut her locker and turned around.

And there was Mark.

DUN! DUN! DUN!

"Hey. What were you reading?" He asked.

"Nothing."

"Are you okay?"

"Yea, you just scared."

"Sorry, didn't mean too."

"I know, it's okay." She lied.

"Have you thought about if you want to go out with me?"

"Uhh, yea I have actually."

"Really and what will it be? Yes or No?" He asked.

Right when she was going to answer him, the bell rang for their first class.

"Sorry, I'll tell you later." She smiled while walking away.

"Wait, Allie. What's your first block?" Mark asked.

"Speech. Why?" She said.

"Really? That's my first block too."

"Ohh.. great." She put a fake smile on. Of course Mark thought it was a real smile. She could never pull her fake smile off on front of Nick.

"Tell me now. What's your answer?" He asked once more.

"Yes." She said slowly, wishing that she hadn't.

Mark smiled. "Let's go to class."

Allie started walking down the hall to the class. She held her books with both of her hand so Mark couldn't hold either one of them.

After there first class ended, Allie was happy. Mark wouldn't stop giving her sexual looks. She was very disgusted. 'What a jerk.' She thought. 'Why am I even doing this?'

But she knew exactly why she was doing this. Everything eventually went back to Nick. Just to make him jealous.

Mark went to his 2nd block after hugging Allie.

'Great now I smell like smoke.' She thought.

She hurried to the bathroom and covered the smell with some perfume she had in her purse. When she was finished, the tardy bell for her next class rang.

SHE WAS LATE!

She threw the perfume back in her purse then ran out of the bathroom. The next thing she knew, she was sitting on the ground. She looked around and realized she had bumped into someone.

Of course that someone had to be Nick.

"What are you still doing out in the hall?" Nick asked while helping her up.

"Bathroom troubles."

"Uhh.."

"Perfume troubles, Nick."

He smiled, he knew what she was trying to say.

"I need to get to class."

"Wait."

"I have to get to class, Nick!" She yelled. It echoed threw the halls.

Nick stopped and went to his next class.

When the bell rang, Allie quickly left the classroom and went to her locker and put all her books away. She turned around and there was Mark.

She jumped and said, "You need to stop appearing like that."

"Sorry, can't you hear me coming though?" He asked.

"No."

"Oh well. I'll try to appear in a different way." He said while rubbing his hand up and down her arm.

He leaned against the locker beside hers and moved closer to her until his stomach was touching hers.

"Mark, stop it." She said in a serious voice.

Mark just laughed.

Allie backed away a little bit then he stopped.

"When are you going to let me kiss you?" He asked.

Allie gave him a fake smile then looked away from him.

BAD MOMENT IN THE HALL!!!

She saw Nick walking this way. He was holding Megan's hand, probably walking her to her locker, or the other way around.

She looked away from Nick and looked up at Mark. He turned around to see what Allie was looking at.

Nick glanced over and saw Mark but not Allie just yet. He gave Mark an awful look. Mark gave him an awful look right back. Then Nick looked at the girl he was standing with, going to give her a dirty look also.

But when he saw that it was Allie who was standing with Mark, his face went blank and confused. But Megan kept pulling him along. He couldn't look away from Allie. 'What the fuck was she doing?' Nick thought.
