Allie felt Nick's warm lips against hers. She had the greatest feeling at the bottom of her stomach she had never felt before. But soon, it ended.

She felt Nick's lips leave hers. She opened her eyes and saw that Nick was staring into hers very deeply. She smiled and so did he. Then Nick said, "So I guess I'll see you tomorrow or something." Then Allie said, "Yea."

"Maybe I can come here tomorrow and we can go to the beach again and surf or just swim or whatever before our date." Then Allie said, "Yea, I'd like that." Nick smiled and said, "Okay so, I might be here around 11:00 or so."

"Okay." Allie said while opening the front door and walking in and closing it behind her. Nick started walking home. When he got there, he went inside.

"Where have you been Nicholas?!?" A scary, loud voice came from his dad. Nick stopped and backed up and leaned against the door and stared at him and said, "I was out with a friend." in a low and quiet voice. His dad looked him up and down and grabbed him by the ear and dragged him up the stairs.

"DAD NO STOP, PLEASE!" Nick yelled and pleaded. He struggled and tried to get away from him. The only thought he had was that his dad was drunk and he was going to be covered in bruises again.

He pulled Nick into the bathroom and threw him at the wall. Nick feel to the floor while holding his shoulder. Then his dad grabbed him, stood him up, and punched him in the face. Nick feel to the ground again and closed his eyes. He pulled Nick back up and then punched him in the gut over and over again.

Finally his dad let go of him and Nick collapsed on the floor. He kicked Nick in the crotch then left the room. Nick laid there and held himself wishing the pain would stop, but it didn't. He opened his eyes and saw blood on the floor.

His nose was bleeding from when his dad punched him in the face. Nick just laid there waiting for all the pain to go away. Then Allie poped into his head. He thought, "Oh no. What is Allie going to say when she see's me covered in brusies?"

Nick didn't know what he was going to do. He heard his dad down stairs making a lot of noice. Then he heard the front door open and slam shut. His dad left. He sat up and looked around the bathroom. He looked up at the sink and thought about cleaning off his face and seeing how bad the brusies were this time.

He crawled over to the sink. When he got there he grabbed the edges of it and pulled himself up. He looked in the mirror and saw that his nose and forhead was bleeding. He turned on the sink water to cold and ran his hands threw it. He cupped them and waited for his hands to fill with the water and then he splashed it on his face. He grabbed a towel and whiped his face off and some blood that didn't come off from the water.

He didn't bother cleaning up the mess on the floor. He looked at the wall and saw that there were little cracks in it where his dad threw him up against it so hard. He looked back in the mirror to see how messed up his shoulder was. It was red and starting to form into a ugly bruise.

He walked out of the bathroom and went to his room. He knew his dad wouldn't even bother coming home tonight. He would probably end up in jail again. At least that's what Nick hoped for. He looked out his window and it was dark. He didn't want Allie to see him like this. With the brusies and all. He would have to make up something that was believable. But he couldn't worry about all that now. So he just went to bed.

The Next Morning

Nick woke up with the sunning beaming in his eyes just like it does almost every morning. He sat up and thought about what happened last night. He looked at the clock and it was 10:30. He got up and walked over to the mirror that was on the back of his door. He had a small bump on his forhead that was a painful bruise. He looked at his nose and it looked just fine. But the feeling was a different story.

His shoulder had a big bruise on it too. The way it looked couldn't even discribe the pain it was causeing him. But he didn't want it to ruin his day with Allie. No matter how much it would hurt him to go out today, he would do it for Allie. He searched threw his drawer for a shirt and found one he wanted to wear. He changed into his swim trunks and went in the bathroom and brushed his teeth. Then he went down stairs slow enough so it wouldn't cause him any pain.

He went out the door and grabbed his surf board that was leaned up against his house and then he headed to where Allie lived. When he got there, he walked up to her door and rang the door bell. A woman opened the door and asked, "Can I help you?" Then Nick said, "I'm one of Allie's friends. Is she home?" The Woman said, "Yes. She'll be out in a minute. Do you want to come in and wait?"

"Oh, no... I'll be fine out here." Nick said. Then the she closed the door. Nick turned around and looked at the sun. It was really bright. Then he thought about what he would tell Allie if she noticed the bruises on him. Then the door opened. Nick turned around and saw Allie.

She was wearing really short shorts and a light green bikini top. Allie looked at him and smiled and so did Nick. Then Allie quickly stopped smiling and asked, "What happened to your for head?" while trying to touch it. But Nick stopped her from touching it and said, "I feel when I was walking home from your house yesterday."

Allie looked at him and said, "Are you okay?" Then Nick said, "No, yea.. I'll be fine. Don't worry it's just like a scratch. I'll be okay." Then Allie said, "Okay." Then they started to walk to the beach.

"So do you know how to surf?" Nick asked. Allie looked at him smiling and said, "No, I actually don't." Then Nick said, "Oh, so that probably means you don't have a board." Then Allie said, "Yep."

"Well that's okay, I can probably teach you how to surf with my board and then we'll get you a  board." Nick said. Allie looked at him and said, "Me.. surf?!?!? Uhh, I don't think I can do it." Then Nick said, "Sure you can. Anybody can surf. They just have to have someone that's good at it to teach it. It's lucky you got me." Allie smiled and said, "I guess. I don't know. What if I can't do it though?" Then Nick said, "Trust me, you'll be able to." Then Allie stopped walking and said, "No, what if I can't though?

Nick stopped walking too and looked at her and said, "If you can't, it won't change anything. You'll still be Allie and I'll still be Nick. We'll still hang out with each other and talk. And I'll still love you." Allie stared at him in amazment that Nick just told her that he loved her. Then she asked, "What?" Then Nick said, "What?"

"You just said you loved me." Allie said in a confused way. Nick looked at her and said, " No I didn't." Allie said, "Yes, you just did." Nick smiled and said, "Okay maybe I did." Allie smiled and started walking again. Nick smile and followed her.

When they got to the beach, Nick took his shirt off amd gave it to Allie. Then she  went over to the locker area and took off her shorts and put them in a locker with Nick's shirt and locked it. Nick watched her the whole time. He quickly looked away when Allie started to walk over to him.

When Allie got to Nick he said, "So, are you ready to learn how to surf?" Then Allie said, "I think." Then Nick said, "Alright then, lets go." Nick turned around and started to walk to the water. Then he saw Allie fly past him heading straight for the water. He started to laugh and run after her. He would be able to run faster without his surf board in his hand and if he didn't have bruises on him from last night.

Allie reached the water and truned around to see if Nick was comeing. Nick reached the water too. He let go of his board and let it float beside him. Allie went depper out until the water was to her waist. Nick walked out more too with his board until he reached her.

When he got to where she was he said, "You can run pretty fast." Then Allie smiled and said, "Thanks." Nick smiled too and said, "Okay lets go out further to the waves out there." Allie turned around and looked at the waves and said in a scared voice, " Them are really big." Nick looked at her and said, "No there not, them are really small." Allie looked at the waves for awhile and thought about it. Then she looked at Nick.

"Do you want to go out there?" Nick asked. Then Allie said, "I don't know." Then Nick said, "You don't have to if you don't want to. I'm no gonna make you." Allie smiled and said, "Okay, I'm just going to try one." Then Nick said, "Okay."

They both started to go out depper in the water. Then Allie couldn't touch the bottom but Nick still could. Nick asked, "You want to get on the board?" Then Allie said, "Yea." So Nick helped her get up on the board. While helping her, he accidentally touched her ass. He suddenly felt himself get a little hard. So he quickly took his hand away form her ass and grabbed her waist to help her up instead.

When she got up on it. He started to pull her out farther until he couldn't touch the bottom anymore. When they got far enough out, Nick saw that a big wave was comeing. He said, "Allie hold onto the board tight okay. No matter what you do, don't let go of it. Okay." Then Allie said, "Okay." She held onto the board as tight as she could. She saw Nick holding onto the board to.

She looked at the wave and it was right in front of them. She closed her eyes and then the wave hit them. Allie felt the board flip over but she held on tight. Then stopped moving. Allie flipped the board back over and came up for air. She looked around for Nick but she didn't see him.

"Nick?!?!?" She said while looking in all directions. "NICK?!?!?!?" She yelled. Suddenly Nick came up out of the water gasping for air. Allie swam the board over to him. When she got there, he held onto the board and said, "Thanks." Allie smiled and helped him hold the board.

"Maybe today isn't such a good day to surf." Nick said. Allie looked at him then quickly looked at his shoulder and she said, "Oh my gosh. What happened to your shoulder?" Nick couldn't come up with anything so he said, "I'll tell you about it later. I just gotta catch my breath." Then Allie said, "Okay. Lets head back to shore." Then Nick said, "That would be really good." Then they both swam back to shore.

When they got there Allie helped Nick stand up. He finally caught his breath. Allie asked, "Are you okay?" Nick looked at her and said, "Yea, I'm fine I'll be okay." They both sat in the sand to rest.

"So, what happened to your shoulder?" Allie asked. Nick looked at her for a minute then said, "Uhh.. don't tell anybody okay. Promise me you won't. Okay?" Then Allie said, "I promise. I won't tell."

"Okay, Well last night when I.. uh.. got home, my dad was there, and he was drunk, but he's always drunk, so it's nothing new really. Anyway, he got all mad or something and he.. uh.. he dragged me upstairs and.. uh.." Allie looked at him confused and said, "What happened? Did he do this to you?"

Nick looked at her with a little tears in his eyes then said, "Yea, he.. did." Allie got closer to him and hugged him. Nick was trying no to cry. He didn't want Allie to see him cry. But he couldn't hold it back anymore. Some tears feel down his face. Allie hugged him tight and said, "If you don't want me to tell anybody, then you can trust me with this secret." Nick hugged her back tight and said, "Thanks."
