Vaan

Vaan, for the sake of the girl, decided to take the forest paths to Sapienta, rather than just cutting through the woods. She with great difficulty, was barely managing to keep the horse from feeding on near by plants and low hanging branches. “ I thought you said you’ve ridden before.” Asked Vaan. Allyson shot a glare at him, “ I said a little.”

Vaan just nodded his head. Girls are more trouble than they are worth.

The two rode on mostly in silence, with the occasional cry of surprise from Allyson when the horse would do something unexpected. The day was warm, and the sky clear. Here in the world of Isolde it was the beginning of autumn. But the chill of that season had yet to settle.

Vaan hoped that their journey would be over with quickly before the winter days. They should be in Sapienta before nightfall, but from there, he had no idea where they were to go. The man they sought was named Isaac, he was a wise man, and also a sorcerer, though few knew it. He was one of the few descendants left of the sorcerer’s and still he was only a part blooded sorcerer. He prudently kept his heritage a secret, as people would be prejudiced against him because of it. Sorcerers were not accepted amongst the peoples of Isolde for the reasoning that long ago the sorcerer’s had overtaken the continent and ruled with an iron fist of tyranny. The people had yet to recover from such a cruel time and thus leaving anyone connected to the sorcerers under harsh persecution. Vaan understood persecution all to well. For it was persecution that first brought him to Isaac many years previous. He sincerely hoped that Isaac had not forgotten him.
