The Kiss part 3
|
Allyson looked up and saw a pair of dark chocolately colored eyes staring down at her. She was wet. She saw that he was wet too, and was dripping on her face. She sat up and the boy moved away from her. He wore strange cloths. He had boots on, and a tunicy shirt thing, and pants that she really didn’t know the name of, but were just strange.
Suddenly she realized that she was not at her grandfather’s farm. She was in a dark forest, of tall ashy trees. An ashy blue sky was held above her head. That weird feeling of deja-vu came over her, though she didn’t know why.
A few moments of silent filled the forest. Allyson tried to re-catch her breath. Before She could say a word the boy got up and turned his back to her. He seemed to be preparing to leave, this sending Allyson into a slight panic. She didn’t want to be left alone. She mustered up her voice and spoke.
“ Where are you going?” she said, her voice weak and crackling. “ Home,” was all he said. Allyson was quiet as she watched him gather up a bundle of what she assumed was firewood. He can’t just leave me out here. She thought. Standing up she found her voice again. “ Wait just a minuet!” called Allyson to the young man. “ You can’t just abandon me. I have no idea where I am nor do I have any idea how to get home.” The young man just turned around looking annoyed. His eyes scanned her up and down, then he shook his head as he turned away. “ Go away!” Cried the man. Allyson was annoyed and wet and cold. She poured all her aggravation into one primitive word. “NO!” She screamed.
The boy spun around and glared at her and she met his glare with intensity.
“ What’s your name?” this was a demand not a request. “ Allyson.” She cried sternly. “Follow behind me, do not talk, sing, hum, or make any unnecessary noise what- so-ever. Can you do that Allyson?” Allyson was appalled by his rude and in considerate behavior. “ Fine!” was all she said in agreement.
Allyson followed the boy in silence but one question prodded her until she spoke. “ What’s your name?” He stopped and she thought he would be angry, but he wasn’t. Without turning to face her he said. “ Vaan.” And then continued walking.
