Alright then...  This comes at a time when I want to rant.  SO far I'm doing pretty good in my Creative Writing: Intro to Writing Fiction but I've learned something.  There's very few stories out there that grab my attention.  And that there's even more out there that make me feel like I'm about to have an enursym.  It hurts to look at most of them.

 Now if it's a story and it's poorly written I can overlook that.  If it's a good story I may read it.  If it's from my favorite writers on here I will read it.

BUT!  I can not stand a few things about some new stories out these days.  Some are not even classified as stories.  Some are one or two paragraphs long about nothing.  Now that isn't what really bugs me.  What bugs me are sex stories that are two paragraphs long or depict sex in a paragraph "just to get the readers attention".  BULLSHIT!  If you're a good writer you can grab the attention of the reader in the first line.  It's the hook that draws the reader in.  Using sex as your hook proves you're a weak writer.  Sex is easy to do (even though the most recent one I've read shows that the girl has no idea about sex) and everyone likes it.  It's annoying that weak sex stories come on and just get free marks because it's about sex.  I encourge people that if they are going to write a sex story...  write a story and then incoroprate sex into it as a bonus. 

Another two things that have pissed me off.  Here let me tell you.  It's either someone posting "chapters" of a good story that are only paragraphs.  Why!?!  What is wrong with people?  Do people really want those "thumbs up" so badly?  By chopping it up you're downgrading the story and making something that was beautiful into something harsh and distasteful.  The other thing which I'm beginning to see is this:

"GIVE ME TEN THUMBS UP OR I'M NOT WRITING ANYMORE!"

I felt like I wish I could smack the person.  What the hell is wrong with them?  They should write because they enjoy it?  That they want to improve and become better and have more people enjoy it.  They should become an annoying two year whose only selfish needs come into play when it's about gainning some stupid ratings.  Jeez...

Also advertising on someone else's profile.  Ask them first before posting.  There is a messaging system in place to do that.
