The New Breed part 14

I never knew one person could be so POWERFUL! It's un-vampire! I have to discover her weakness or I don't stand a chance in hell against her. Somoleon vanished just as quietly as he arrived. Midnight never knew that he was there.

"MIDNIGHT WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!" Moonrise shouted from the front door. Midnight ran around front to see what she wanted.

"I'm right here! Don't yell so frickin' loud next time. Where's Kraven? We need to hit the road."

"I'm right behind ya, babe." Kraven grabbed Midnight and hugged her from behind, "You sure did pack light. Got everything you need?"

"Yeah I got everything. And what's up with this babe stuff?" Midnight looked at Kraven teasingly.

Moonrise sighed, "Can we just get on with the search? I'm tired of ya'll two being all "couply". Where''s Somoleon's human house?"

"It's this way. Follow me."

Midnight took off, the others not far behind her. Buildings flew out of her sight just as quickly as the appeared. It was all a blur. She couldn't even tell where she was going. It was like her instints told which way to go. Odd enough, she loved the rush pulsing through her body.

When they finally reached the house, Midnight stopped a few feet away from the edge of the property. When Moonrise and Kraven were by her side, they started toward the entrance of the place. When they got a few feet away from the door, it suddenly flew open. Somoleon ran out of the shadows and knocked Kraven and Moonrise away from Midnight.

"Have you been taking good care of my baby Midnight? She's very precious to me ya know."

Midnight grabbed Somoleon and pinned him against the outer wall of the house, "Let's get a few things straight. First and most important, I am NOT your baby. You ever call me that again I'll take you down right where you stand. Second, I have no feelings for you WHATSOEVER! When will you get it through your thick skull? Second, IF YOU EVER HURT MY FRIENDS EVER AGAIN YOU WON'T LIVE TO SEE YOUR NEXT BIRTHDAY!"

Somoleon cracked a smile and vanished form underneath Midnight's grasp. He suddenly reappeared behind her and hit her hard in the side. Holding her side, Midnight swung her arm right at his gut and sent him flying halfway across the yard. She ran to his side and pointed her free hand toward him.

"Now tell me where you've hidden my parents and I MIGHT leave you on life support in the hospital for the rest of your life."

Somoleon smiled wickedly and said, "Don't we sound threatening today? That can be fixed very quickly!" With that he flew towards Midnight and and slugged her across the face. Kraven started to get angry amd started towards Somoleon. "Don't Kraven! You just got out of the hospital! This is my battle! Let me finish him!" Midnight screamed to him. Kraven reluctantly nodded and stayed away.

Somoleon snickered, "Let me tell you what, Midnight darling. I'm gonna make a proposition. Let us gather some allies and meet at the border of this world and the vampire world. Then we'll have a duel to the death, winner take all. Loser kills themselves and gives their powers to the better vampire. What do you say?"

Midnight fumed over the fact he called her "darling". She considered what her chances were. Things looked like they would play out for her. But one problem, where in the hell would she find allies? The New Breed had been exstinct for centries. There couldn't possibly anyone who could help her! "Kraven! Come over here I need to ask you something." Kraven ran to Midnight's side and leaned in, ready to listen. Midnight leaned in towards Kraven and whispered, "Do we have any allies that could help us defeat Somoleon? I'm really getting tired of his cocky additude." Kraven thought for a mintue and replied, "Yes we have some allies. I know a way to get some more too. We should be able to take the challenge with ease."

Midnihgt nodded. Then she turned to Somoleon to face him. She looked him straight in the eyes and said, "Before I give you my reply, I have one condition. If the condition isn't met, there will be no fight. Do you want to hear it?" Moonrise knew what Midnight was going to say. She was using one of Somoleon's tactics against him. "OK, I'll listen to these conditions. This should be fun." Somoleon smiled rather playfully. Midnight gave him a dead serious look that would make a dead man squirm.

"If I win I get my parents back, no complaints, no traps, and no strings. If you win, you let my parents go but you take me instead as your servant. I want to sign all this in a blood contract. That way no one can get out of it. Deal?" Somoleon looked at Midnight with pure delight. "Of course I'll sign a contract under that condition! You'll love working for me! We'll meet tomarrow to sign the contract, I'll let you conjour it up since you thought of the brilliant idea! See tomarrow, love!" With that Somoleon vanished, his wicked smile engraved in Midnight's mind.

"Midnight! What were you thinking? There's no way you could live as Somoleon's servant! Why didn't yu talk with us before you did something so stupid?" Kraven exploded. Moonrise stepped infront of Kraven and tried to calm him down. "Trust me, Midnight did the smart thing. You need to calm down. We have allies, remember? The odds are in our favor."

Midnight started worrying about Somoleon's confidence. It was like to was a little too sure about the planned events. And that got Midnight worried, really worried................
