“Hello,” Who the heck is this, “Hello?” Beepppp beeeep. They either hung up or I have another call. Call ended. Zzzzz. Zzzzz. Phone is ringing. Not restricted. It.is.Tyler. Oh my goodness. I never really thought he’d call back. I have to pick it up before I miss the call. Slowly pick up the phone, Alex. Come on, you can do it.“Helllo?” I said in one of those sexy voices like I was doing something important in which I wasn’t.
“umm, hi. Did you call, alex?” crap. Now what?
“Ummm, yeah. Ok, I need to tell you something”
“okay go” Now what? What am I supposed to say?
Alright, ummm, I know this is probably isn’t the best thing to say but, i---“
“Ok, I know exactly what you’re going to say. You like me. I know already but—“
“How did you know?”
“Let me finish, okay?”
“Alright” Jeez, he’s cranky. But how in the world did heknow?
“Okay, so I kind of like you too” You’re probably thinking that as I’m telling you my not love story, you’re thinking that I’m so excited and all but I don’t have that feeling what so ever. All I can think about is tony. How’d he find my number?”
Alex, are you there?”
“Oh, yeah, sorry. I was just kinda, I don’t know. I don’t know what to think right about now”
“When I found out about you I thought the same”
“Yeah, so…ummm, are you and alex still together?”
“Yeah, im not quite sure where to go from there. Like, for some reason, I think that there’s still a future for us. Us as in—“
“You and alex?”
“No, as in you and me”
“What do you mean?”
“I mean, I want to marry you” Marry me? I’m only a freshman in high school. How do I already know who I want to marry?
“tyler, you can’t already know about whether—“
“Yes, I do know who I want to marry. I want to spend the rest of my life with yo—“
“tyler! No! You don’t know who I even am. You don’t know really anything about me. How can you already know?”
“I know everything about you. Seriously, I know everything” Well, that’s kind of creepy.
Alright then, what’s my favorite color?” No one knows who my favorite color. Sher doesn’t even know my favorite color. Heck, I don’t really have a favorite color.
“Well, when people ask you what your favorite color is, you don’t even know what to say because all of the colors are beautiful. So you really don’t have one. But if you had to choose one color to wear everyday for the rest of your life, it would be blue. You always wear that blue eyeshadow on your eyes even when it doesn’t go with what you’re wearing and that ring you always wear? Well, it has the slightest hint of blue that no one can tell except for you. It’s like your own little secret that no one could ever find out. But the thing is, I know. I know that you wish you could fly. Fly like no one is stopping you and feel the wind in your hair. You don’t even know how much I love you Alex.” Wow. Wow. What to think? How did he know that? Its like he took the words right out my mouth but made them sound so much more than what I am able to think. “Alex? Are you there?” Oh, crap.
“Sorry. It’s just---“
“Too much? I kind of overwhelmed you. I’m sorry.”
“Wow, you can finish my sentences”
“Like I said, I know everything about you”
“Wow, Tyler. I. I. I. I need some time to think about this all”
“I understand”
“Alright bye”
“Bye”
“I will talk to you later about this all” Hang up the phone, Alex.
“Wait! Alex!”
“Yeah?”
“I’ve never told anyone this before but, I love you”
“Umm, alright. I can’t really say anything right now because I don’t want to regret anything. So bye.” I’ve never hung up the phone so fast. Maybe this is turning into one of those love stories.
