For the most part, she cuts when she gets stressed out. Don't feel bad about her not talking much about it. It's a difficult issue because most people don't understand it. I know I've talked to people whom I considered good friends about it, and they completely flipped out. So, it's not surprising that she's not overly garrulous when it comes to cutting.

It sounds like she's talked to you about a lot of this then. Has she said anything about a reason for why she's cutting? I'm surprised shes told you so much. She never talks about it to people I know, including her closest friends...

Yeah, she has talked about her counselor. I don't believe she's going anymore, though. I don't think she helped her, because (as I've also found), most counselors don't really know anything about cutting. However, if she could find a good counselor, I think it would be beneficial to her. I believe she's been cutting for about 7 or 8 months, though she may have tried it several times before that.

She's told me quite a bit about it. As for stopping, she has the power to stop. However, I don't believe she will stop completely right now. It's not uncommon for her to take several weeks off, but then she usually finds a reason to do it once more.

I have ideas as to why, but you should really ask her that. When I said I could answer some questions, I meant in a general sense, not pertaining to Emily. I don't want to talk about her behind her back. Though I will say that she is not hurting herself to a point that will cause her any significant physical damage.

I do talk to her about it, and I have since last year. I am a cutter as well, though I don't encourage her to do. It's bad for her for many reasons. If you want to understand the concept of self-hurting, I can give you some answers, which may help you to deal with her. For the most part, though, only she can decide if she wants to stop.

Hey Jody. This is Shyla, one of Emi's close friends. Today I spent a few hours with Emi and I noticed that she had a fresh cut on her right arm. I don't believe that she wanted me to see it. I messaged the other two people that she talks about in her About Me. I'm not sure that you know that she cuts, but if you don't, I think that it's really important that you know. Mel is the only one who has replied yet, and she said she is going to talk to Emi. I hope that you will talk to her too. I am messaging Emi tonight about it.
