Once we landed I simply followed Daniel. As we walked through the air port I stared out the tall windows, the sky outside was a deep blue like a flowing river, there was fog which a lot of people hated, but for me fog was the best kind of weather. The only thing I wished now was that I would have packed my long black coat, although it wasn't freezing it certainly wasn't warm!

“Ok, guess we can wait here until the car gets here, it's a burgundy honda so pay attention.” Daniel instructed.

We waited there, watching for cars, the silence between us growing. Although I was deeply disturbed by the silence it obviously didn't effect him, he just stared out towards the cars, a tired expression on his face.

I desperately thought of something to get my attention away from the awkward setting and to my amazing luck my phone rang at that second.

“Oh damn let me get that..” I murmured digging in my pocket.

“Hello?”

“Hey Camille. This is Gavin, so you've arrived in Oregon?” Gavin asked. Gavin was one of my best friends back home, he was always there for me, although it was quite obvious he liked me.

“Gavin! Glad you called, yes I have, but my name's Mia.” I corrected, rolling my eyes.

“Boyfriend back home?” Daniel asked silently, not trying to interrupt, but amused at the idea.

“No, no, he's just a friend.” I replied.

“Who are you talking to?” Gavin asked.

“Oh no one! Just a guy I met.” I quickly explained.

“Just a guy? I thought we were more baby?” Daniel laughed, saying this loud enough for Gavin to hear, obviously he was having fun playing with Gavin's mind.

“Shut up!” I whispered, elbowing him.

“Mia who's the guy with you?! He's not your boyfriend is he?!” Gavin roared, loud enough for Daniel to hear, at least he called me by the name I wanted.

“No! No, it's not like that!” I assured.

“Yoink, I'll be borrowing that” Daniel stated, taking my cell away.

“No! Give it!” I begged, knowing Gavin would only get mad at Daniel's idea of a joke.

“Hello kind sir, may I ask why exactly you're talking to my girlfriend?” Daniel lectured holding my head away from my cell.

“Boyfriend?! Mia doesn't have any boyfriend!” Gavin yelled back, half to himself, reassuring himself that I didn't.”

I finally managed to grab my cell phone back, although I was sure Daniel had let me grab it back instead of keeping it.

The conversation between us went on for only a minute longer before Daniel broke out into song, using his girliest voice possible.

“Ooooo deary me,
My little brother's in his bedroom smoking weed,
I tell him he should get up cause it's nearly half past three
He can't be bothered cause he's high on THC.
I ask him very nicely if he'd like a cup of tea,
I can't even see you cause the room is so smokey,
Don't understand how one can watch so much TV,
My baby brother Alfie how I wish that you could see.”

Although I was pissed at him for interrupting me and Gavin again I couldn't help but laughing.

“Hey, Mia, there's the car, let's go.” Daniel said getting his bags.

“Well got to go Gavin see ya.” I said quickly, hanging up the phone before he could respond.

“Well he was certainly a cheery old mate.” Daniel laughed.

“You know you didn't have to tease him like that” I scolded.

We hesitantly got into the car, him and his aunt in front and me in back.

“Daniel! I'm so glad to see you! And who is this?” His aunt asked, smiling at me. She was very attractive, she had long red hair, not the kind of red as in the kid with the red frizzy hair and freckles but a beautiful red the was simply...beautiful. Her face was painted, with deep blue eyes the color of the sky on that rare fall day when the sky is perfectly blue without a hint of gray.

“This is Mia. She'll be attending Greenwood's Academy as a freshman, she has no relatives here and since we won't be attending school for another week, she would just be staying in her dorm. So instead I though she'd like to have dinner with us, that's ok right?” Daniel asked.

“A guest! Great! And a pretty girl at that! Of course she'll stay, she must!” She insisted.

“Well thank you so much for the generous offer.” I thanked.

“Certainly! My name's Teresa, but you can just call me Mom.” Teresa assured.

The drive to their Teresa's house went by quickly by me listening to her and Daniel talk. They were 100% better than any show on t.v! Just listening to them argue and discuss stuff already made me feel apart of their family, it was a such great feeling.

We pulled into the drive of a two story house with two windows at the top of the house that were amazingly large! The house was beautiful, with all it's lights on, shining in the sky of the setting sun.

It was the most beautiful house I had ever seen, and on the porch of this beautiful house was was a girl with golden hair down to her waist and a white sun dress on. She looked to be older than me, maybe a junior like Daniel. Along with the most stunning house I had ever seen was certainly the most stunning girl along with it.
