The Unexpected

(Part 14)

Recap:

“It was amazing” you said with a sigh and then you grinned and went upstairs.

“Good night you guys!” you said yelling on your way up.

“Night!” They yelled.

You could’ve sworn you heard someone say “She’s falling for him”

And you didn’t want to think about it but in the back of your head, you knew that it might 99.9 percent be true. =]

You woke up the next morning, took a shower, and went downstairs to eat. Chris was already downstairs watching television and you joined him after you finished eating.

“So what are we doing today?” you asked him looking at his ruffled hair and you ruffled it some more.

“Well Valerie and I are going to the movies.” He said and you can tell he was trying not to make you feel left out but you were okay.

“Oh okay then. Well have fun.” You said as he got up, you guess, to get ready for the movies.

You watched the television for a couple of hours and eventually fell asleep, but were woken up by a voice.

“Roxy?” the voice said and you opened your eyes after hearing them say your name a couple of more times.

You opened your eyes and it was blurry at first, but then a couple seconds later you saw it was Derek.

“Derek?” you asked confused as to why he might be in your house.

“Yeah?” he asked.

“What are you doing here? Or better yet, how did you get in here?” you asked looking around wide awake by now.

“Chill, The door was open, which probably isn’t a smart thing to do around New York. And I’m here because I wanted to see you.” He said smiling and you smiled too.

He came closer and gave you a kiss and you kissed back, it got more intense when he asked for entrance and you gave it to him, the kiss went on for a couple of minutes and then he pulled away which probably left a look of confusion on your face.

“Hey Roxanne?” he asked you kind of nervously and you could tell he wanted to tell you something because he never called you by your full name.

“Yeah?” you said waiting.

“I know that you probably might not answer this or you might get mad, but…why don’t you want to motor cross again?” he asked you and your face went white as you remembered a flashback.

*Flashback begins*

You were on your bike and you were twelve years old and you have just won a competition and the news media people were interviewing you.

“How do you feel after winning, Roxanne?” the guy asked you.

“Amazing!!! It was so awesome, I want to do this for the rest of my life!” you said with a big smile still holding your trophy and then you saw your parents smiling as they came towards you to give you a hug.

“Mr. and Mrs. Evans, how do you feel about your daughter’s dreams about being a motor cross rider?” he asked your parents.

“We support her with anything and everything she needs to make her dream come true.” Your dad said.

“Its her calling, she’s been doing her best since she was little, it was unexpected of her to want to motocross instead of playing with Barbie’s, but its healthy and I fully support as well. She’s very outgoing and rebellious and I know she can make her dreams come true.” Your mom said.

“Thanks, mom and dad. I love you!” you said smiling and hugging them once more.

“We love you” they said

*Flashback Ends*

“Roxy?” Derek said shaking you.

“Huh?” you said

“Are you okay? You just blanked out on me.” He said concerned and hugging you.

You realized that he truly cared about you and you wanted him to know why, but you couldn’t tell him, you had to SHOW him.

“We have Spring break this week right?” you asked him.

“Yeah why?” he asked

“You don’t have anything planned?” you asked again

“No”

“Okay then” you said getting the phone and calling to buy two airplane tickets to your hometown and you just kept looking at Derek’s confused face.

“Pack up for a week. We’re going to my hometown. Don’t ask because I’m answering your question.” You said getting up and so did he.

“Okay?” he said uncertain.

“Go pack right now. We leave tomorrow at 4 in the morning.” You said giving a peck on the lips before he left.
