CHILDHOOD PROMISE
(Part 11)
Recap:
“Alright now that Chelsea got ‘deflowered’,” you say looking at her. “I have to go home there is going to be a dinner at my house.”
“Who with?” Trisha asks you.
”Don’t know, it’s a surprise” you say now hugging them both goodbye before heading off to god knows what’s going to happen.
You got into your corvette and started heading home. You got home and parked your car and got in the house.
“Katie, sweetie is that you?” your mom yells from the kitchen.
“Yea mom it’s me. Look at my new makeover mom!” you say happily as you go to the kitchen and show her.
She looks around and looks at you, at first you thought she’d drop the knife she had but then she had a smile on her face and said “Its fits you good.” And smiled.
“So when are the guests coming?” you ask her as you get an apple and sit on the counter.
“At around 2 or 3 hours, so can you start getting ready please?” She says continuing to fix the food.
You go upstairs and say hello to your dad and got in the shower. You changed into skinny jeans with a purple shirt and black flats and did your makeup. Then you looked at the time and saw that it was already 6 pm and that the guests might be coming anytime soon. You were going to turn the music on when you heard a bell meaning they are here so you got of your room and went downstairs to greet them.
You downstairs only to find the same people that live next to you which were…
Jesse and his parents!!!
“Hello” you said to the parents and Jesse. The parents said hello but Jesse was speechless and just staring at you, probably because of your new makeover you got in New York.
“Hi” you said to him.
“Uh hey” he says back staring at you.
You barely noticed that he doesn’t have blonde hair anymore, he now has his hair black now and he look strangely familiar.
You guys all sat down to eat and finished when your mom spoke up.
“Katie, dear, do you remember them?” she asks you obviously talking about Jesse’s family.
“No why mom?” you said honestly
“Ok sweetie. Do you remember when you were six and you had a best friend, but he moved away?” she said trying to go slow and every now and then she’d glance back at Jesse’s parent which were Anthony and Elizabeth.
You nod remembering the time your best friend abandoned you 10 years ago.
“Well his family and him are back” she says now avoiding looking at your eyes.
“What?!?! When did this happen?! Where are they at?” you get up and look at your mom waiting for the response but your dad was by her side already comforting here that it “was the right thing to tell her”
“We’re here and your best friend is sitting right next to you” said Jesse’s mom (Elizabeth).
You look at her and remember her. She had died her hair a light brown and she had it blonde before and then you look at the dad and he looks almost the same. Then you looked at Jesse, as a blonde you couldn’t recognize him but now that he has his hair black you remember him because his hair was black back then. You started to get teary eyed that he lied to you and didn’t tell you he was back. He left you 10 yrs ago and made you feel abandoned and now he thinks he can show up and be a part of your life?
You run up to your room and lie in your bed crying.
Why was this happening to me? Why do I have to take this? You thought
You were so busy thinking you didn’t hear the door opening but you can feel someone getting on the bed. You didn’t know who it was but someone laid right behind you and hugged you and stayed with you till you finished crying.
You look back and see that it was just Jesse.
“What do you want now? Didn’t you abandon me before? What are you going to do it again? Why don’t you stop hurting me!” you said to him starting to cry again.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you Katie. The only reason I died my hair blonde when I came here was because I wanted you to move on with your life but I wanted to see you living it even if it meant me not being it. I have missed you so much that once I heard my dad got a promotion over here, I was jumping up and down with excitement. But I knew I was going to tell you the truth today so I died my hair the way it was naturally before I came here and easily enough you recognized me. I didn’t mean to hurt you, Katie, I’m sorry. I just want to let you know though that I love you.” He said looking at you in the eyes.
“Why did you leave Jesse? Why? And please don’t tell me you love me if you barely know me anymore. You lied to me Jesse, I trusted you and you lied to me. Just get out please. Just leave.” You said now crying and covering yourself with the pillow.
You can feel him getting off the bed and for some strange reason you didn’t want him to but you already told him to go.
“I do love you. And I’m always going to be here for you. No matter what. I love you Katie.” He says before closing the door and leaving.
You get up after a few minutes and look for an album under your bed and went to the part when you were 6 years old.
In almost every of your pictures you were with Jesse.
Your favorite one though was the one when you were smiling and lifting the water house in the air while the water came down and Jesse was smiling and hugging you from your waist and trying to make you stop.
You smiled.
You flipped through a lot of pictures but stopped when you saw a picture of you and Jesse kissing well more like getting a peck. You saw the writing on the back and it was your mom’s writing. So you’re guessing she took it when you guys weren’t looking.
You smiled knowing Jesse was your first kiss back then but you frowned because he could’ve been doing so many first with you. There still is. But do you trust him enough anymore? You didn’t know.
You got the picture and put the album away and got tape and taped it to the side of your bed and you fell asleep looking at it.
What happens tomorrow is a mystery because you were worried about how you were going to avoid talking to Jesse and how to take peoples reaction to your makeover.
