Son of Chaos Ch.2

Chris came home on Report Card day, happy to have good grades. His mother said Chris inherited his father's love of numbers, but Chris wasn't proud of his 'B' in math. He was proud of his 'A' in art and english, something his parents could care less about. He walked up the flight of stairs to his apartment, opening the door. He froze in place. Daddy was home with a girl, kissing her. But she wasn't his mother. She had red hair and dark eyes. Nothing at all like his mother. His father looked at him and pushed the girl off of him.
"Go to your room.", he said and Chris walked off. He could hear his father telling the girl he would be right back. Chris sat on his bed and waited, his father walking into the room. He closed the door and stood in front of it, as if trying to keep Christopher in.
"She's a friend of mine. Don't tell Yari anything. Got it? It'll be our little secret. You know I don't like it when someone can't keep a secret."
Chris nodded and his father smiled. Chris held his breathe and reached out to his father.
"My report card...."
His father walked over to him and took it, looked it over and nodded.
"Good. I'm proud. Keep studying. A mind like yours is good in business."
Chris smiled, his father rarely talked to him that way. His father handed him the report card and ran his fingers through his hair.
"We'll have to get you a hair cut this week. You starting to look crazy."
His father laughed and walked out of the room.
The next few days Chris came home to find his father with that same girl, her name was Gloria. Sweet Gloria, who brought Chris candy and gave him kisses and hugs. She was very affectionate, she always left Chris's father smiling. Something Yari failed to do. Gloria had a spanish accent and was always chewing gum. Chris hated her for the annoying chewing sound she made when she chewed gum. But she was nice, and that was all that mattered. She kept Daddy in a good mood. She kept Daddy from losing his temper and Chris from paying the price. Chris loved her for the affection she showed, not only his father but to him. For the next few months, she was Chris's only hope of being happy.
Chris brought Gloria flowers one afternoon, surprised to not find her home. His father was drinking and seemed upset. Chris put the flowers on the counter and walked over to his father.
"Are you ok?"
His father nodded and took another sip from his cup.
"She left us C...She left us..."
"Why?"
"Yari....She threatened her to stay away."
Chris felt his heart sink into his stomach. He had been in a kind of heaven for a few months because of Gloria. And now she was gone.
"I liked Gloria...She was nice to you..."
"I know C...You told Yari didn't you?", he said coldly, looking at Chris with furious eyes.
"No!", Chris pleaded and started to walk away from his father who was now standing.
"I didn't! Why would I tell! I liked her too Daddy! She made us happy!"
His father didn't seem to listen and only grabbed Chris by the collar, lifting him up. Chris begged and begged his father to listen but his father was no longer there. He was lost somewhere inside that muscular body. Chris didn't scream as his father beat him, he didn't make a sound. He only felt hot tears fall from his eyes as his father hit him again and again, Chris feeling Daddy's ring dig into his skin. Chris closed his eyes and began to dream, seeing Gloria with her arms open, calling him. Telling him to come to her, she would make it all better. But as Chris ran to her, Yari intervened and Chris opened his eyes, his mother was sitting on his bed, a bowl on her lap and a rag in her hands. She was cleaning Chris up, tears running down her face. Chris knew she didn't cry for him. Daddy must have left again, leaving her alone.
"Why'd you make her go away?"
"You're going to have a little brother or sister..."
Chris did not respond but closed his eyes again, the pain consuming his body was too much. All he wanted was to sleep and never wake up. He had heard his mother say once she wished he had never been born. But Daddy hit her for saying that. But that was when Daddy loved Chris. Daddy loved Gloria. But she left him. She left Chris.
I decided to post another chapter. I'm going away for a few days and I won't have any internet. =[ Well God Bless everyone and even though I won't be around continue to keep me posted. Bye!!
