School started up again, Angel walking inside with Sophia beside her. Alex joined them soon after, he had gotten left back and would be graduating with them that year. Angel smiled when she saw her schedule for the year. She had an english class, weight training, art, pottery, fashion design, study hall and drama. She was excited for the new year, it started so much better than the year before. She had drama with Sophia and weight training with Alex. Lunch had her sitting alone at the corner of a table, none of her friends were there.

The first week of school was over, Angel throwing herself in bed. Joseph was crying in his crib and Sophia was arguing with Alex over the phone. Angel took Joseph into her arms, trying to calm him down. She rolled her eyes when Sophia started apologizing, telling Alex she loved him. Angel closed the door to her room, sitting down on the rocking chair. Angel started to cry as Joseph continued screaming, Angel doing everything she could think of to get him to stop.

Lord what am I doing wrong?

She cried with him, Gabriel rushing into the room and taking him into his arms. Joseph calmed down, Angel still in tears.

"You ok? What happened?"

"I don't know...I just had a rough day and I got here to Sophia arguing on the phone and then he started crying."

"Take it easy babe...Just take a nap for a while. Read or whatever. I'll watch him."

Gabriel kissed her forehead, walking out of the room, leaving Angel alone. She walked over to the bed, laying down on her side. She closed her eyes and thought of her day; the lonliness, her sexist teacher and Alex's old friends. All her strength built up that summer seemed to diminish in a week.

Angel woke up, the apartment dark and quiet. She walked around and found a note to her from Sophia, she and Gabriel were in church with Joseph. Angel turned the light on in the kitchen, it was 9:30pm. She sighed and walked into the bathroom, getting into the shower. She felt a sharp pain and she started to cry, falling to her knees. The water started going cold, leaving Angel shivering. She shut the water off and weakly stepped out of the shower, wrapping a towel around herself. She walked into her bedroom, throwing some loose clothes on. She was about to jump into bed when she saw the trail of blood she had left on the floor. With the little strength she had she cleaned everything up, finding her pads in the bathroom. She found a bottle of painkillers and took two, going back into bed.

"You ok baby?"

Angel opened her eyes, Gabriel was sitting next to her. He was smiling, stroking her arms. She nodded, slowly sitting up. She looked at her legs, she could barely move them.

"There was blood in the shower when I was about to go in....Did you know anything about that?"

She shook her head, embarassment coming over her.

"It's ok baby...I just got a little scared. You sure you're ok?"

She nodded, tears forming in her eyes. She fell into his arms, crying. He just held her close....Father what is going on??...
