Alex and Sophia sat on the swings in the park, watching Angel and Gabriel play with Joseph at the table a few feet from them. Alex was staring at Sophia; her short hair, black shirt, skinny jeans and Converse were something so different to him. She was different.

"Let me know when you're done staring."

He blushed and laughed, Sophia looking at him and smiling.

"How did you like church last night Alex?"

"It was great..."

"Gabriel tells me you gave your life to God..."

"Yep...It feels good....Where were you last night?"

"Home..I just needed that one on one with God you know?"

Alex nodded and smiled when Angel and Gabriel came with Joseph.

"You ready Alex?"

"Yea, you got everything in the car?"

"Yea, I just have to bring Angel and Sophia home. I'll meet you and Joseph in a while."

Gabriel and Angel smiled, waving at Alex as he took Joseph home with him. Sophia went home with them. Angel hugged Gabriel tight.

"Behave tonight and make sure Joseph doesn't spill anything on his suit. Ok?"

"I know baby, we'll be fine. You excited?"

"More than excited..I love you."

"I love you too."

He kissed her and grabbed his keys. Tomorrow was their wedding and he was going to stay with Alex that night. Angel cleaned up the house, her mother and sister would arrive at any moment.

"Sophia? What's wrong?"

'I dunno.."

"Yes, you do.."

Sophia shrugged.

"I just want to be free of feelings for someone."

"Sometimes you can't help it. Especially when it's someone you liked once..."

"I know...But I mean wouldn't it be wrong now?"

"No..The past was done...You and I weren't friends then. Besides, you're in the now...You guys can really help eachother grow spiritually. He needs that now..."

Sophia nodded and smiled. Melissa and Blanca came in, disrupting the silence. They had bags in their hands, Blanca freaking out because Angel still had gel in her hair. Angel washed her hair, Melissa grabbing Angel and making her sit down. She combed her hair and put different things in it, putting her hair in rollers. She did her eye brows, and started painting her nails. Blanca was getting their dresses together. She was in agony because Sophia had cut her hair.

"What are we going to do with her hair?"

"Leave it alone. I'll straighten it tomorrow before we leave. Five minutes."

Her mother looked as if she was about to go into cardiac arrest when Sophia brought her dress out.

"Black! Your maid of honor is wearing black?!"

"Yes mommy..Black. Besides, she needs to stand out and she is my maid of Honor."

Melissa let Angel go, she started painting Sophia's nails. Blanca was in complete agony, Angel's nails were tipped in black.

"You girls just want to kill me. Ay Dios mio! Where is this world coming to?"

Angel laughed,"You know wearing full white would be worse ma, you know how the faily is..."

She walked into her room and called Gabriel. He was feeding Joseph and watching a boxing match with Alex and Angel's brothers.

"You are having so much more fun than us girls...", she said, Gabriel laughing. When they hung up, Angel locked her door and prayed to God, she was getting nervous.

Lord...I'm scared about tomorrow. Please don't let my family ruin everything...I'm scared about a lot of things.....I know this is crazy but, I'm scared that when Gabriel and I make it to the hotel in San Juan, I'm going to freak out when he touches me....I want it to be beautiful....And another thing..Sophia and Alex...they are moping around too much about being single and liking eachother..Well, I have to go now, the bachelorette party is calling. Literally.

She got up from her knees, telling them to stop calling her name, she was coming out. Her mother was holding a camera, all of them had rollers in their hair, with the exception of Sophia. Emerie was there too, her hair in rollers. They all laughed at eachother, Melissa turning the music up. They started singing, hair brushes in hand. Blanca was making them little things to eat, humming to herself. They danced around and played games, watching the Notebook at the end. Angel and Sophia were the only ones to make it to the end, both of them crying. They shut everything off and went to the room, throwing themselves on the bed. Sophia was already asleep, Angel lying wide awake.

O Lord I'm so scared.....
