Escape Ch.15
Azriel laid on his back, Tirzah drifting into sleep beside him. He stroked her hair and smiled. He closed his eyes and fell asleep, his dreams fill with memories...
Azriel sat at the egde of a cliff, watching the ocean waves crash below him. Ezekiel was sitting beside him.
"Brother, we must rebel..Time is running out. Al-Haid plans to use us as pawns to fulfill his greed and lust for power."
"You speak of Master as a tyrant. We rid this country of tyrants and greedy men."
"You say this only because the only example of political power was our father, a sick pig. Not all men are like this. There are men who seek goodwill."
"Brother, you sit here speaking of rebellion. Do you mean to bring peace with violence?"
"We do what we must. You know as well as I that speaking of peace and goodwill towards Al-Haid and the other Six is vain. Foolish. They'd be quick to slice your throat before trying to use our power for the greater good."
Azriel stood silent. Ezekiel wanted to end the murder and the lies, the plans of taking over the empire. Maybe he was right. But Al-Haid and Julius were the fathers he never had. He couldn't turn his back on the ones who took him in. Ezekiel was after all only his half brother, their father's legitimate child. How would he know of true corruption if he had never had to live under the iron fist of truely corrupted men? Azriel had to suffer while Ezekiel ate off of platters of gold..Azriel looked at the ocean and let the tears fall as Ezekiel walked away from him, throwing the ring with the guild's symbol into the sea.
"My love?", Tirzah said, tugging at Azriel's arm as he cried in his sleep. He woke up, looking around the room. He looked confused until Tirzah put her hand on his cheek, looking into his eyes.
"You were crying again.."
Ever since Al-Haid visited them, Azriel cried in his sleep, even fought in his sleep.
"Did you dream with him again?"
"This time it was the day he left."
"Donnot worry, I'm sure he is well."
"That isn't it. Al-Haid baid me beware his words. But Ezekiel baid me the same of Al-Haid...."
"When the time comes, you shall know whom to believe. Come back to bed, you need your rest."
She pulled him back to bed beside her, stroking his back as he drifted slowly into sleep.
Tirzah walked to town alone, Azriel was chopping wood and making something new for the house. She bought a few things here and there, finding a beautiful dress; white with gold sewed into it.
"That is a lovely dress, my lady."
Tirzah looked at the man beside her, tall and handsome, green eyes. His golden hair was shorter than Azriel's but was just as wavy. He smiled like Azriel too.
"And what is a maiden as yourself doing alone in a city as this?"
"Finding a beautiful dress to wear to dance before the presence of my husband."
The man smiled, Tirzah buying the dress and walking away. He caught up to her and took her by the hand.
"My lord, I believe you have crossed the line."
"Forgive me, but, I cannot help it."
"Then help it. For at any moment I can have anyone fetch my husband. Then you can explain why you donnot let me go."
He smiled.
"Then fetch him."
Tirzah rolled her eyes. Yahweh, please.....Azriel does not need to be provoked....Neither do I...
"My lord, please..."
She looked at him and saw a slight resemblence to her Azriel, his cocky smile was what made him all the more different.
"My lady, I sent my son to fetch our lord."
"Thankyou, my lord.", Tirzah said, the carpentar bowing and going on his way.
"Now let me go before-"
"Brother I believe you should let her go. My wife is not to be meddled with. And neither am I."
Azriel looked at Ezekiel and Tirzah looked at them both. They were almost identical, but their eyes and hair gave them away. Ezekiel let her go, Azriel taking her by the hand and standing in front of her.
"Well now brother, it is good to see you have made a life for yourself."
"What possessed you to come here?"
"I have come to find peace in the most beautiful place on this earth."
"I take it your rebellion against Al-Haid did not turn out as planned?"
Azriel took Tirzah by the hand and began to walk back up the hill. Ezekiel followed.
"Brother I did not invite you nor do I intend to."
"I am your elder and you will let me in."
"You are a traitor and liar, I donnot have any obliation to let filth as you come into my home. My wife does not need to be in the presence of the likes of you."
"Speak of yourself, Azriel the Seventh. You of all people cannot say you are any better than I."
Tirzah now turned and looked up into Ezekiel's green eyes.
"Now you listen here, Azriel os not one of the Seven. Julius is dead, as are the other Five. That life is far past him. He is my husband. Not a blood lusting power hungry monster."
She took Azriel's hand and rushed to the house, Leto opening the door for them. As Ezekiel went to walk in, Tirzah slammed the door in his face.
"You cannot hide in your home forever brother! I am not leaving until you let me in. We have to talk!"
Azriel opened the window beside the door,"Save your lies for hades brother!"
Azriel shut the window and Ezekiel heard the latch. He laughed and sat down on the bench outside their door. Azriel went onto the roof of the house and saw his brother sitting on their bench. He climbed back into the house and found Tirzah sharpening a knife.
"Did he leave?"
"No, that stubborn brute is on our bench."
"He is your brother. Now go finish making something out of that wood you have in the courtyard. You have made a mess."
Tirzah kissed him as he smirked. He grabbed a glass of wine and walked off. Tirzah put bread and fruit into a bowl, walking out to the front door. She put the bowl on the floor and right when Ezekiel stood in front of her, she slammed the door. Ezekiel smiled.
This shall be a wonderful reunion....
