Gabriel sat alone in his room, a shoe box on his lap. He looked through it;old "love letters" from old girlfriends, movie tickets, a few cds, and an envelope full of pictures. He took that out, looking through them. He found one of Sophia and him as kids, her hair in a fauxhawk and his in a fresh cut. They were standing beside a boom box. He smiled, Sophia was always the little rocker. He found the only picture that survived of him and Angel when they were a couple in middle school, Angel was wearing sweat pants and a little white shirt. Her hair was up and she had the biggest earrings he had ever seen. He was growing his hair out and had little facial hair.Jesus Christ...Never again...He laughed. He found a partially torn picture, older than life. It was taped in the corners, its edges seemed to have been burned. A little boy with black hair was smiling, his two front teeth missing. The other boy was sad, his curly hair was a mess. They were dressed in uniform for school. Gabriel smiled a bit, Alex was always smiling back then. Gabriel found one of them during freshman year, Gabriel with a girl on his lap and Alex standing behind Angel. Gabriel put the pictures back into the box. He walked into the living room, Angel had just put blonde highlights into Sophia's hair.

"You leaving?"

"Yea, I'll be back in a while..and Sophia, how emo do you plan on getting? I mean the hair, the clothes?", he said playfully, Sophia shaking her head.

"I don't appreciate your stereotypical commentation."

"Shut up dictionary." He kissed Sophia's forehead and kissed Angel on the lips.

"I'll be back."

He got in the car and turned up the stereo. When he got to the house he parked the car, pacing outside the door.

You know...I'm only doing this because I know I'm wrong and I need to learn to forgive....If I hit him, I'm sorry as of now...

He found himself knocking on the door, two knocks and one pause then three knocks and a kick to the door. Alex opened the door, laughing.

"How do you remember that?"

"I dunno...I guess when you've knocked on someone's door for over 10 years you kind of have that imprinted in your memory."

"You and Sophia need to stop with the big words."

"You need to learn how to read."

Gabriel followed Alex upstairs into the gameroom. Alex handed Gabriel a controller.

"How do you own a PS3 if you just got out of jail?"

"I guess I got that luck."

Gabriel rolled his eyes, pressing start. They played video games for over an hour, Alex rolling on the floor in agony.

"No matter what I do you never lose. Yo, how about we play Super Mario Brothers."

"You still have my nintendo?"

"1997 baby, of course."

As Alex hooked up the system Gabriel looked through Alex's game collection.

"You have my Legend of Zelda."

"No, that's mine."

"No, your name is not Angel Gabriel."

Alex laughed as Gabriel showed him the back of the game that had Gabriel's name written in permanent marker. Gabriel put the game in his pocket and wacked Alex on the head.

"Man, this is nice.", Alex said as he started the game.

"It is..", Gabriel smiled. Gabriel pressed start, he was Mario and Alex was Luigi.

"So we cool?"

"Yea...My bad for...everything..."

"It's ok Gabe...I deserve it.."

Gabriel nodded and Alex gave him his hand. They did their hand shake, laughing when they attempted to do the end of the hand shake where they did a little dance.

"We too old for that."

"No we just need practice."

"Alex, we are too old. Our bodies have been out of practice for years. Give it up."

They laughed until their sides hurt, Alex laying back on the couch.

"It's sad we wasted these years not talking."

"I know...But that was yesterday Gabe, we living today."

"True...So what is this you stay talking to my sister?"

"Hey,the past was forgiven."

"Yea....She doesn't hate you anymore."

"No, I don't think she does either...."

Alex smiled.

"She makes a beautiful emo though."

Gabriel laughed.

"I'm serious...She like bleached some of her hair, like the underneath of her hair. And she cut it shorter."

Alex laughed, running his fingers through his hair.

"Well, Alex..."

"What?"

"You like her again don't you?"

"What are you talking about!"

"You like my sister. Yea..I see how you look at her now..."

"Shut up, I donnot...."

Gabriel looked at him and smirked.

"I have known you since you showed up at my house looking for you blankie...I know when you like a girl."

"Whatever...", Alex said, his face red. Gabriel laughed and punched him in the arm. They hugged eachother and let go quickly.

"Brothers...", they said in unison, laughing again. Gabriel looked at Alex and pictured the little boy with missing front teeth.

"You know what I'm going to show her when I get home?"

"What?"

"This..", Gabriel handed him the picture of their first day in kindergarten. Alex shook his head and yelled No! as loud as he could, Gabriel taking it from him. They now sat in silence, the music from Super Mario Brothers playing. They looked at eachother and laughes, Alex hugging Gabriel again.

"I'm so sorry Gabe..."

"It's ok..I'm sorry too..."
