Christmas was around the corner, Angel's family now closer than ever. Melissa moved back to New York with Dante, they were getting married in January. Blanca was now the overprotective grandmother, bugging Angel about how she studied too much and didn't rest enough for the baby. She was on top of anything that had to do with Joseph. Miguel moved back in with Blanca, they gave their marriage another try. Gabriel was getting ready for his final semester of High School, mid-terms were stressing him out. Angel was as content as can be, in awe of the growing child inside her.

"Baby, come here.", she said the week before Christmas. Gabriel sat next to her. She took his hand and placed it on her belly. Gabriel smiled and put his other hand on it. Joseph was kicking and moving around.

"It's so funny...Did you feel that?Talk to him, maybe he'll relax."

Gabriel started talking and Joseph slowed down, kicking every now and again. Gabriel kissed her belly, he was excited.

The last week of school was here, Gabriel leaving early because of mid-terms. Angel sat in class, her mid-terms were so easy. She finished them in a half hour max, sitting bored for the rest of the hour. She watched Alex become frustrated, he apparently forgot to study anything. At lunch he was his usual jerk self, cracking jokes real loud for the world to hear. He looked at Angel after he kissed Emerie on the cheek, Angel shaking her head in disgust of him...He doesn't change does he??....She ignored him and went to her last class, today was the last full day of school.

The next few days before Christmas Eve were half days, Gabriel and Angel leaving at the same time. When they got home, Nelson had closed the shop and was waiting for them. He gave them the keys and handed them their gifts. He was going away until Sunday, he wanted Gabriel to open shop.

Christmas Eve was here, Gabriel and Angel spending it in church. They had fun, her family was there. The service ended early and they all went to Blanca's house. They ate Christmas dinner and exchanged gifts at 12. Angel was given almost everything she needed for the baby. Everyone was laughing and having fun, talking and enjoying their first Christmas together in years.

Christmas Day began with Gabriel tickling Angel and waking her up with kisses. He waited for her to come out of the shower while he set everything up. When she walked out he sat her down, he had waffles and whipped cream and a few strawberries. They fed eachother breakfast and when they were done Gabriel massaged her feet and her back. He was being more romantic than was normal for him, even though he was always like this she noticed it was on another level. Gabriel kissed her slowly and passionately, taking her left hand in his. Angel felt him push a cold, smooth metal onto her finger. When she opened her eyes she looked down at the diamond ring. She hugged him tight, Gabriel lifting her in his arms. When he put her down he placed his hand on her cheek, kissed her and smiled.

"Marry me..I know we're young but we can make it. We can do it when we're ready. I'll wait until after you graduate, I love you so much."

She nodded and said yes, kissing him. She was feeling the butterfiles in her stomach again, she was estatic. He held her tight and then kissed her stomach. She couldn't believe this was happening....God your crazy......

Everyone in church congratulated them that Friday night, Gabriel was smiling like she had never seen him smiled before. She knelt down to pray, her heart was filled with peace...Lord, so I guess this is your way of showing me I am good enough for him huh? Thank you so much!...I really don't know what else to say BUT thankyou...

New Year's Eve came, Angel and Gabriel in her mother's house as usual. Angel was in her old room, Gabriel sitting next to her. She hadn't been in there in so long, so much had happened in this room. She showed Gabriel her old pictures, she found one of them together, when they were a couple years ago. Gabriel had been so foolsih then and Angel naive. But they were happy, smiling and hugging. As they went to kiss, Gabriel's cell phone rang. It was almost 12 am. He looked at the number and sighed.

"Hello?...What's wrong?...Angel, yea she's right here, hold on...Angie, it's for you.."

Angel took the phone and her heart dropped.

"Give me the keys."

"What? What happened?"

"I'll be back. I know where to go."

She kissed Gabriel and left, driving as fast as she could without getting a ticket. She arrived in front of Alex's house, getting out of the car and walking into his house. There was a party. She ignored everyone staring at her and made her way up the stairs and into the bathroom. Alex was on top of a girl, trying to get her clothes off.

"Leave her alone."

Alex froze, getting up slowly. He turned around and looked at Angel, her face cold and her eyes full of fury. He couldn't look at her. She walked up to him and slapped him in the face with all the force she could, Alex walking out, covering the handprint she had left. Angel turned her attention to the girl sitting on the floor, her shirt off and her pants unzipped. Angel extended her hand and Emerie took it. She helped her find her clothes, leading Emerie out and into the car. She drove Emerie home, telling her to put ice on her face and to make sure she told her parents.

"I can't....You're just gonna leave me here? My parents will kill me."

"Since when am I fit to help you?"

"Angel I'm sorry. But you're the only one who would understand, no one will listen. My parents think they're God. Let me stay with you. Please, at least until Sunday. Please."

Angel looked at Emerie and remembered how desperate for help she had felt. She sighed and started the car and drove back to her apartment. She lead Emerie up the stairs and into her room. Emerie sat down and looked around, Angel rummaging through the closet.

"Take a bath, don't scrub too hard. Put this on. I don't know how they'll fit I was a size 9 before I was pregnant, I think you're a 5. O well...Um, I have new underwear I never used. Just take your time. I'll be here if you need anything."

Emerie took what Angel gave her and went into the bathroom. When she walked out, her black hair was a tangled mess and her left eye was bruised. Angel looked at her and saw herself.

"Sit there, I'll be back.", Angel said and returned with a comb. She brushed Emerie's hair, Emerie crying softly.

"I was so stupid, I should have listened to you.....He almost raped me....Angel...he raped you didn't he?"

Angel sighed.

"Yes, but I'm over it. You're not stupid. Don't even think that."

Emerie took Angel's hand and turned around and looked at her. She got up and hugged Angel, crying.

"It'll be ok Emerie, he won't hurt you anymore...", Angel said, "I'll take care of you..."
