Lost Without You Ch.5

Every night after that Gabriel slept beside Angel, holding her in his arms. He was finally at peace with himself, figuring he'd show her somehow that his heart was hers and even though the child inside her was the product of something terrible, he wanted to turn it around and make it something beautiful. Angel was opening up to her feelings;Gabriel was her everything now. She listened to anything he told her, he spoke to her solely of love and compassion. He is so different now...

Angel was the talk of the school as her belly grew, Gabriel had already explained the situation to his friends from church. They understood and treated her as one of them. They protected her when Alex's friends taunted her. Gabriel ignored the rumours about himself, one of them being that he was the one who got her pregnant. Angel avoided Alex as much as she could, she could tell he was worried about the baby being born.

Angel stood up in her english class and handed in her poetry assignment. She smiled as Ms.Briggs read it, her eyes in tears.

"Angel...This is, wow. Life from the ashes. Wow.."

"Thanks Ms..and Alex, thankyou.."

She whispered to him as she walked back to her seat. His face went red and everyone laughed. Angel walked to her locker when the bell rang, Alex walking up behind her.

"You better be careful with what you say outloud."

She looked at Alex and rolled her eyes.

"Or what? You'll rape me again? Alex, your days of hurting me are over."

"Angel, you don't know what you're talking about. I can break you again. And if you keep it up, you'll b lucky to see that baby alive."

She glared up at him and he put both arms on either side of her, trying to scare her as he looked down at her. Angel looked back at him, not caring that she was crying. She looked into his eyes, she had loved this guy once. Or so she thought. As Alex threatened her again, Angel gasped when Gabriel appeared out of no where and pushed Alex away from her.

"What did I tell you? Stay away from her."

"Stop defending that whore. Gabe you know as well as I do that's what she is and that's all she'll ever be."

Gabriel dropped his bag and in no time was on top of Alex, punching him over and over. People circled them, Angel was pushed away from them, holding Gabriel's bag close to her. Gabriel was releasing all of his anger, not stopping even when Alex was bleeding. Everyone was pushed away as the security guards came and seperated them. Gabriel was sent to the office as Alex was rushed to the nurse. Gabriel sat down in the waiting room, cracking his knuckles and trying his best to cool down. He was called in and suspended.

"Get your bags Gabriel. We'll be seeing you after Thanksgiving."

Gabriel sighed and asked them to call Angel's second period teacher.

"She has my stuff."

Angel walked in the room after she was called, handing him the bag.

"I'll come pick you up after school. Please don't look at me like that Angie, you can bash me at home."

He kissed her cheek and left, Angel walking back to class. She faced the day alone, Alex was sent to the hospital to get stitches. She sat alone with Gabriel's church friends who comforted her as best they could. They told her about Gabriel's anger problem that he had when they met him.

"He'll be ok. He is only human..But he'll get back up. He is such a soldier.", said a girl sitting next to Angel. Her name was Emerie, one of the youngest in the group. Angel felt a slight jealousy when Emerie talked so lovingly about Gabriel. Angel stood silent for the rest of the day. She felt her heart pound as she saw Gabriel waiting across the street, leaning against his car with the sun shining on him. He looked like an angel, his eyes brighter then ever when she looked at him. They got in the car, Angel rushing inside the shop, Nelson smirking as Gabriel rushed behind her. Gabriel ignored Nelson and ran up the stairs and opened the door. He locked it and found Angel putting clothes in a bag.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm bringing you problems Gabe. I can't keep letting you do this all for me."

He grabbed the bag from her hands and threw it aside. She glared up at him.

"Angel, why not?"

She pushed him, realzing how much stronger he was than she, he barely moved. She grabbed the bag from the floor and continued, Gabriel taking it from her hands again.

"Stop it Angel!"

"Why? Why are you letting me do this to you?You just got suspended Gabe!"

"So what? Look it was me and Alex, not you. You're not doing anything to me. You don't have to leave! Don't make it harder for us Angie."

"Why Gabe?"

She grabbed the bag again.

"Don't go...Please Angie, don't."

"I don't fit in your life Gabriel. I'm makin it worse on you. Why can't you accept I'm not any good?"

"Because I love you."
