Bell struggled to find words. ''You...you...mean he's dead?'' She asked hysterically. She leaned against a treet for support, the cool bark was surprisingly crisp against her skin. Shane shrugged. ''When I arrived with team we found a few bloodied items. A shirt and t-shirt and the forensic scientist said that whose ever blood it was diefinately couldn't have survived. I mean the shit was every where. On the tree, in the grass.''
''So where is Jason?'' Bell asked again, still a bit traumitised. Shane shrugged again. ''We searched this goddam forest from top to bottom. That boy anit no where to be seen. If anything I say he's crawled in some hole and died.'' Shane smiled weakly. Bell nodded. ''He's not dead.'' she whispered lowly. ''He can't be. I love him to much. I'd give anything to see him, to be with him.'' Shane didn't know whether to leave or comfort the weeping girl.
''Look Bell they'll send out one of the finest search parties in hillcrest and they'll find the boy. I have no doubt in my mind that they'll find him; I just doubt whether he'll be alive or not. If that's his blood he'll need immediate medical attention and he can't get that out here in these goddamn trees.'' Bell felt the tears filing from her eyes.
''If he is alive what will happen to him?'' she asked, not looking directly at Shane. ''Well...it really depends on the court, but he will most likely be charged with murder. The sentence could be from 20 years to life.'' Bell shuttered at the thought. Life was a long time; hell 20 years was a long time. Bell slide down the smooth, wet bark of the tree and softly sat on the mushy ground. She hugged her knees, placing her chin on her hands and starring far off into the distance. ''I guess I have to...''Shane began, hoping Bell would come with him and get the hell out the humidity of the thick forest.
''Thanks.'' was all Bell said, but she didn't budge. Shane grunted. ''You gone stay here all alone?'' he asked. Bell nodded. ''Without him I'm alone anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter.''
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bell lifted herself easily over the fallen trees and debris. She'd never traveled this far into the woods before, but she felt this sense of urge to just venture deeper and deeper into the thick green foliage. She had promised Shane she'd be home by dark, and he warned her that he'd call her parents to make sure of it, but she knew she wouldn't be home by sunset. She had only been walking for an hour and the sun already began it's lonely journey behind the horizon. Shadows began to cover the forest.
The scent of musty animal fur, waste and wet debris filled the air with it's tangey smell. Bell was starving and tired, but she pushed on moving branches and fallen objects from her path. She was determinded to find Jason, determinded to see him. Soon she came to the point when her legs would carry her no farther and she sat defeatedly on a rough, jagged stone. She cried silently into her hands. The night had come about and by now it was surely to dark for her to find her way back, if she even remembered.
''...uhhhhggg..'' Bell jumped at the sound. ''....uhhhhhhh.'' She turned eagerly in the direction of the low groaning. She crawled on all fours in the direction of the painful sounds. She steadied herself against a tree as she slowly stood up. She squinted into the darkness and just beyond a small sac tree a limp body leaned against it's trunk. She was sure it was Jason. She rushed over, as fast as her exhausted legs would carry her, over to his body. He shivered in surprise at her arrival.
She starred in astonishment at Jason. His wounds were like none she had ever seen. Somehow a large gash was sliced deeply into his arm and there were small cuts all over his face. His shirt was gone and large, jagged cuts decorated his chest in his own dark blood. Bell gagged in disgust, but managed to smile fragilely. ''Jason?'' she whispered almost to distinctly for human ears. is voice was weak, disoriented and barely noticeable. ''Bell...I'm so sorry.'' His eyes closed and the opened. Bell cried softly.
''No I'm sorry. I was so stupid.'' she cried. Jason shook his head. ''I saw...that son of bitch in the parkinglot at school. I knew you had missed your bus and I started to give you a ride, but I was fucking mad at you.'' He started crying. ''I'm so fucking selfish Bell. If I'd given you a ride you would have been safe. I saw him follow you and I knew what he was up to, but at first I didn't care. I just figured you deserved it.'' Bell choked back more raging tears. Why was he saying this?
''But then something happened. I couldn't stop myself from following you to and then I saw the muther fucker. You were so hurt and killed me...to see you hurt. I'm sorry.'' He cried softly and Bell could tell it hurt him tremendously to cry. Bell kneeled by his side. ''I forgive you if you forgive me.'' Jason's head nodded and he tried to smile. ''I love you Bell.'' he whispered. ''I love you to Jason.'' Jason's head nodded slightly to the left and then his eyes closed. His body stopped moving. He was gone.
I'M SORRY I HAD TO DO THAT FOLKS, BUT I ALREADY HAD THE STORY TYPED OUT FROM THE VERY BEGINNING AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED IN MY ORIGINAL BOOK. I KNOW IT'S HORRIBLE, BUT IT'S LIFE. THERE IS ONE MORE CHAPTER LEFT. IT'S CALLED ''I FELL IN LOVE WITH A GOTH'' THE AFTERMATH. THANKS
