My heart nearly stopped. After he caught my wrist, Conner must have spun me with too much force, because I twirled around and crashed into his stone chest. He was so cold. I shivered. But, I then realized he was frozed, glaring down at me with pure fury in his violet eyes. I shivered again, but the cold had nothing to do with it.

Just as I was about to pull away from him, he dropped my wrist, gripped the top of arms and gentally pushed me away, at arms length. I looked back up at his face. His expression was friendly again, no trace of the fury I'd spotted before. He looked at my expression and laughed.

"Hey, Jamie," He said, chuckling. "Sorry I scared you." He smiled apologetically. I took a deep breath. "It's okay," I choked out. I couldn't help but admire him. He was so....pretty. I smiled back.

He looked at me for a moment, observing my soaked clothes and hair. He frowned. "Arn't you cold?" he asked, obviously concerned. I smiled sheepishly and nodded. "A little." My words stopped short as a shutter passed through my body.

He smiled crookedly at me and shrugged off his jacket, handing it to me. It took me a second or two to understand what he was doing. I just stared at the jacket. "No, thats alright," I said, understanding. "You could get cold." Another violent shiver rippled through me.

Conner just rolled his eyes and smiled, pushing his jacket into my arms. I sighed and muttered thanks as I slipped it on over my damp shirt. I felt warmer already.

"Are you walking home?" he asked. I shoved my hands deep into the pockets of his jacket and nodded. He pursed his lips for a moment. "Let me walk you home, then," he said, a beautiful, persuasive smile stretching across his face.

I bit my lip, thinking. Could I trust him? He may be drop dead gorgeous, but that didn't take away the fear. But, there as something in his smile that compelled me to find out whatever I could about him. I suddenly wanted nothing more than to have more time talking with him. The curiousity burned now. I may beable to understand my dream, I thought, excited.

"Okay," was all I was able to say as I stared at him, desparate for answers. His smile widened. "Great, come on. The rain is getting heavier." He reached for my hand and wrapped his icy fingers around mine, pulling me away from the curb and across the nearly deserted street.
