Tess walked into the orchestra room and looked around to see who wasn't there yet. She saw that she was the last one to show up, aside from John, whom she expected to be late. She set her bag down on a chair set next to Mike. He greeted her with a nod and proceeded to play a Bach piece that was way beyond her point of expertice. She was a pretty good cellist, but she could never even compare to what Mike could do.

She walked into the cello room to get the cello she played every day in class. She uses a school cello so she doesn't have to bring her own to and from school everyday. Mike brings his own. He says it feels like he's cheating on his cello by playing annother one. He might like music a bit too much.

Before Tess even got in the door way of the cello room, she saw Max bent over, inspecting her cello. She stood there for a little, watching him pluck all the strings, to make sure they're in tune. He checked the bridge to make sure it wouldn't rattle when she played it.

She walked in the room a little farther, to see what he was doing. She accidentaly knocked a bow from its holster and Max jumped up from his place, startled. He took a deep breath, attempting to regained his composer. "I was just...um...checking it out for you," he said breathlessly. "Oh," Tess said. "Thanks, I guess." She pulled the cello out from the rack and grabbed the bow that she knocked on the ground and walked out of the door way, so Max could get through.

When Max walked passed her, she felt a rush of warmth flow through her body. She breathed in his scent. He smelt amazing, but, she couldn't quite figure out what the smell was. She walked out after him and took her seat next to Mike, who had stoped playing and had his attention on Max, who was on a stool in the middle of the room, guitar in hand.

"Okay, guys. Start with a D major scale just to see if your all in tune," he said so everyone in the large room could hear him. We all played, trying to placing our fingers in the right spots so we sounded in unison. When we were done, Max walked over to Massie, a violinist, and bent over her, tuning her A string. Tess couldn't help but glance over at his butt when he was bent like that. Nice ass, she thought.

After he finished, he walked over to where Mike and Tess sat. He put a piece of paper on their stand. "Try this," he said, talking to Tess more than Mike. "I think you guys could make it work. Mike you take the bottom stanza, and Tess," he said smiling a little more. "You take the top." Tess smiled back. He said my name.
