Little Krysti in the Making 5

June 1, 2009
So its been a month since Ive last written. School and work has been so hectic and Ive had no time at all for myself. Ive been working so hard in getting good grades and taking on the extra classes so when baby girl is here, I can give her the world. My feelings have been so up and down, the mood swings have been crazy.. and almost to the point where i think i might be psychotic! lol
Not a lot seems to make sense right now, I know Im working my ass off to make the best possible life for her, but it is definately hard doing this alone. My boyfriend lives in another state and we've only seen eachother a few times since I found out we were expecting. He is working and doing the best he can to straighten out his obligations there and eventually move here, but it would be so much easier if he were here to help me too. Its not easy feeling alone and trying to be positive about not having your best friend and boyfriend with you through the whole process. It's such a beautiful thing that I am going through but its heartbreaking that he has literally missed all the changes so far. Like her first kicks, hiccups, somersaults.. haha Its amazing to have another life in my body and we're bonding more and more everyday and im so thankful for her. I just wish my boyfriend was here to experience these life changes we're about to face in just a few short months.
Oh and as far as cravings go, its all about the chocolate right now.. I havent really craved anything crazy.. i dont know when that starts but I was hungry all the time in my 2nd trimester and its finally calmed down and all i can think about it chocolate milk or ice cream, or candy bars and penut butter! lol.. Not a very good diet.. Iknow. lol
But we have 12 weeks to go and I cant wait til she is here. Im so excited! =)
Thats all for now and ill keep up as much as i can, but with summer classes and working.. its tough to find time for anything. =) Thanks for keeping up!
Im now 28 weeks in my pregnancy. Ive entered the 3rd trimester and not enough hours in a day to get everything done. lol Im at the point where my tummy isnt quite big enough to go over a pillow for comfort but big enough that its uncomfortable to sleep on my side. My bed is soo full of pillows its crazy! haha.. I have 2 body pillows for my sides and like 5 others to prop my legs and back and head. haha.. maybe im just acting like a diva, im not sure, but all i know is at night, its a battle for me to get comfortable and fall asleep. As soon as i finally get all my pillows situated around my body and my legs propped up for comfort, i then have to pee. So all the work was for nothing and by time i get back into bed, all the work of propping my pillows just isnt worth it. lol
On the bright side, little Kylie has been kickin and movin around more than ever and I just love it! Its so nice having her move and its almost like a game we play together now when she kicks. Ill tickle my tummy and see if she follows my fingers. She has such the personality already and i just know she's gonna be a very special person in many peoples lives. I cant wait to meet her! She has already made me such a happier person. Even though the difficulties i have experienced already with feeling alone and buckled down with school and work, she gives a little kick and for some reason, everything just seems to feel a little better. I begin to think about her and the wonderful life im gonna be able to give her, and she just already knows how to make her mommy smile and laugh. To be honest, she's the most wonderful thing I have in my life right now and I love her more than words can say.
Heres her changes in the last 5 weeks that she has made in my tummy! =) She really is growing fast.
Week 23-the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.
Week 24- Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.
Week 25-Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. Her weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but she's beginning to exchange her long, lean look for some baby fat. As she does, her wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and she'll start to look more and more like a newborn. She's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.
Week26-The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.
Week 27-This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She's sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby's brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
