Introducing Life Part 14

I invited Joselyn over for dinner but she couldn’t make it because her family was going out. I hated the fact that my mom was making me stay home that night all because Jon was coming over. I had to be in a house full of people I was mad, it was definitely not a night I wanted to stay home. Joni hadn’t talked to me all day and on top of it all, I heard her talking to Jon on the phone earlier. Apparently he got a new phone already. Lucky for Joselyn and I, we still had his old phone as well as people still texting him and well, lets just say, we were texting back.

“Where’s Jon’s play station?” Joni came in our room and asked.

“I don’t know, didn’t you have it?” I replied.

“Well, I thought I did, I had it in the closet and he has been asking for it back.” She said

“Oh, so you’ve been talking to him?” I asked innocently.

“Yes, only about the play station though. We don’t talk about you. I mean in the beginning we did just about the other night. I mean really Kenzie, you went around and told everyone he raped you. That’s not what you told me and his story seems a little more realistic then what you told me.” Joselyn said.

“What are you talking about? I never said he raped me. I told you exactly what happened and if you don’t believe me, I don’t care. I know what happened and its none of your business anyways. I just told you in confidence being that we live together and we’ve been through a lot together. If you believe Jon, that’s fine. He just wants you to sleep with him to get to me, that’s really what all of this is about. I bet you anything tonight he will come over and put the charm on you and my mom. He will definitely try to get you to like him and leave with him tonight to go hang out. Then after that, he will try to sleep with you too. Its your life, believe it or not, I am looking out for your best interest too and trust me, he isn’t a good guy.” I said back to her almost in tears.

“I honestly don’t think he has enough balls to do that Kenz. But you know what, lets make a bet. If he comes over and does all that, Ill help you and Joselyn with whatever revenge you have planned on him. If he doesn’t, your doing my laundry.” She said laughing.

“Deal. But why have you been talking to him anyways? You know I don’t like him and I’m not trying to tell you to not hang out with him, but just like Riley, why do you continue to hang out with those who do your friends wrong?” I asked.

“I don’t do it to piss you off it that’s what you mean. It’s just, I’ve had different people come in and out of my life all the time. I don’t expect them to really stay in it other than you. Riley was there for me during the hard times but after what she did to you, I really don’t talk to her that much anymore. Jon on the other hand, I don’t have an explanation. I am sorry and I hope you don’t hate me.” She said apologetically.

“Its fine Joni, don’t worry about it. Lets just see how tonight goes. I really hope I’m wrong though.” I said.

“Yeah, me too.” she said kind of hesitantly.

Before we knew it, Jon was knocking at our door. I had my mom answer it because I didn’t want to see him at all. I stayed downstairs and watched television while my mom and Joni were upstairs talking to Jon. I didn’t go up there until they called me up for dinner. My heart started pounding with every step I took. In a way, I hoped I was right, but then again, I didn’t want to be for Joni’s sake. I mean, if she left with him, we he try to do to her what he did to me? Its all so much right now. I made it upstairs and looked at the front door. I would do anything to just run out that door and not come back tonight. Why was I so scared? He is in my house, he cant pull anything here. The way he has been acting since that night though is just creepy not to mention the stalking.

“It’s about time you come up here. Where have you been?” Jon asked me in the nicest possible way.

“I was downstairs obviously. I have other things to do then entertain people all the time.” I snared.

“Kenzie! What did I tell you? Be nice!” my mom exclaimed.

“Why do you care anyways mom? He isn’t your friend, he’s not even mine. He is Joni’s friend. She can entertain, its not my responsibility.” I looked straight at him.

“It’s okay. I know you don’t like me after the other night. I’m sorry for everything that night. Just like I told your mom the other day. I made a mistake by letting myself give into RIley. I really don’t like her that way. The only person I want to be with is you. If you give me another chance?” He said innocently.

“No, I have no patience for that and I don’t deserve to be cheated on. I also don’t deserve to be treated inappropriately either. I have high standards for myself and you just don’t quite fit the description I’m looking for.” I said rudely.

“I understand that and I know I messed up big time, but if you just gave me another chance I will prove to you that I’m not that guy you saw the other night. I’m better than that.” he said almost sounding convincing.

“Your words mean nothing to me, especially after the other night.” I said harshly.

I turned around slowly and walked away as confidently as I could. I wanted him to know I was sticking by my word. I know he is only doing this to hurt me. I know he really doesn’t want me back, he just doesn’t want word to spread that he pushes himself on girls. He wants to shut me up. I made myself a plate of food and told my mom I was eating downstairs. Apparently she didn’t mind since Joni and Jon both walked downstairs as well. I had the T.V. on and was watching a lifetime movie. Everyone was quiet while they ate. Jon made himself right at home like he usually does. It didn’t bother him one bit that I didn’t want him there and surprisingly it didn’t feel as awkward as I thought it would. He made a couple positive comments about the movie we were watching. I like watching Lifetime and honestly, I didn’t want him around so I didn’t change the channel to MTV.

“So, Joni, What are you doing tonight? Wannna hang out for awhile and maybe get some ice cream?” Jon asked while Joni looked up at me.

“Sure, why not. But I have to do chores first, so why don’t you come back around nine to pick me up.” She smiled.

“No problem. I would invite you Kenzie but you already made it clear that you don’t like me.” Jon said.

“Your right, I don’t like you and you’re act is only working on my mom.” I said.

“My act? You think I’m just messing with you? Well your right, I am. I don’t like you either but I don’t need you spreading around anymore lies about me, got that?” He said

“Trust me, I have only stated the truth to my two closest friends. I haven’t spread anything around. It was someone who was at the party who assumed and made a rumor out of it. Don’t act like this is bothering you so much when I know your doing just fine. You’re a creep and I want you to leave my house right now. You got that?” I mimicked him.

“I don’t want to be here either, all I want is Joni to hang out with me.” Said Jon.

“Great well she said pick her up at nine. Now leave.” I demanded.

“Im gone.” He said as he disappeared and I heard the front door slam.

“Wow, you really called that one didn’t you Kenzie?” Joni asked.

“Yea I did, are you really going with him tonight just so he can prove me even more right?” I asked

“Haha, no way! I have another plan. I really need to find his play station though.” Joni said looking around.

“Why is it so important?” I asked

“Revenge right? Well then, you will see what happens to his precious little play station.” Said Joni mischievously.

“In the closet on my side.” I gave in to her.

“Hah, and I thought you didn’t know where it was.” Joni replied jokingly.

“I’m sure we all had the same thoughts about his damn play station.” I said.

The hours pass and Jon finally called Joni and was on his way over here. We dug out the play station and got ready for him to get here. Joni was rambling on and on about how Jon was a loser and she knew he was no good. I think what made her upset most of all was she actually thought he was into her. That’s Jon for you though, he makes all the girls believe he’s into them. Jon’s car pulled up and our light from the garage outside was shining bright. He could see as plain as day as well as we could see him sitting in the car. As he got out of the car he asked if I decided to go. I just looked at him and smiled big and looked at Joni and nodded. She stepped forward right in front of him and showed off the play station.

“Is this what you’ve needed?” she asked politely.

“Yes as a matter of fact. Now that I have it, I wont be needing you tonight after all.” he said in a rude manner.

“Oh but I need you for a good laugh.” Joni replied.

Joni held the play station above her stomach and slammed it down on the concrete ground as hard as she could. Pieces flew everywhere and there was no doubt that his play station wouldn’t be played ever again.

“Oops!” She said smiling. “I’m so sorry, it just slipped right out of my hands.”

“You BITCH!” He screamed! “Now your both gonna get it. I was mainly after you Kenzie but now all you bitches will pay!” he yelled.

“Wow, we are terrified, real scary you are dude.” She said not even phased by his comments. I had the feeling she has been through something similar to this before. He confidence brought me more confidence as well. Jon picked up the pieces to his play station and turned to leave. As soon as he reached his car, I yelled out, “Oh by the way, what happened to your car? It looks like it hit a tree. I bet you needed a cigarette real bad for that one. You should have called, I would have came to help you out buddy!”

I busted out laughing, I couldn’t help myself. Jon just glared at me knowing he lost this round. The only thing that scared me though in the end, was his plan for retaliation. Joni asked me if I had anything to do with his car later on that night, I kept my secret and told her no. There are some things I just cant let out yet, especially with her. Trust will be something we both need to work on with each other if we continue to be friends and live in the same house.
