Introducing Life Part 10

Bzzzzz…. Bzzzz…. My phone was going off. I took it off my desk and looked at it.

New Message: I see you! J From: Trent

I looked back at him again and smiled. I got so lost in my own thoughts, I didn’t even realize class would be over in five minutes. This is usually around the time where I stare at the clock and count every second until the bell rings. Today was a little different though. I was actually kind of dreading the thought of going home and answering to my parents of how my night went. Of all the things, that’s what I thought about right now.

“Your homework for tomorrow is to do chapter 8.5 Numbers 1-57 even.” Mr. B called out. How did I know he would make us do all the evens? Oh wait, because the odd answers are in the back of the book. Cut us some slack already, I thought.

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!

Yup, that’s our bell!

“Hey Kenzie, wait up!” I heard Joselyn call.

“Duh! Since when have I ever walked out of class without you?” I said.

“What was that in class? She said

“What was what?” I asked her in confusion

“Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about. I saw the way you and Trent were looking at each other. Do you like him?” she said

“Uhm.” I laughed. “Me and Trent?! Are you out of your mind Joselyn?” I asked

“Look, I was just asking. I just really don’t think after the past events that have occured within the last 48 hours you should even be in “like” with someone right now.” she said concerned.

“Trust me, I don’t like Trent in that way. He has been a great friend but it would just be weird. I was actually thinking about setting him up with that new girl in class.” I said

“Oh? And why would you do that?! We barely know her.” she said

Joselyn gets a little over protective about different people that come in and out of our lives but especially the ones in our lives. I think she gets that way because of her parents. Joselyn’s parents have had problems off and on and I think she expresses the way she feels through her friendships and relationships. Joselyn dates a lot just never seriously. Then again, we are only fifteen. There’s no rush to involve ourselves in something that’s higher than us.

“Wanna go to your house or mine after school?” I asked.

“We can go to mine, my parents aren’t home and I guess we could catch up on some studying. We have definitely been lacking in that department.” she said

We decided we would walk home because she doesn’t live that far away from me anyways. On our way out of school, we saw him. Jon that is, he was walking into the school.

“What is he doing here? He was suspended!” I asked

“I don’t know, there’s Trent. Lets go ask him.” she said

“No! Lets not. We don’t need to go to him for everything.” I said.

“Okay, or not. Lets just go.” she replied

As soon as we went to look away Jon looked straight at us. He was glaring with a horrible attitude written all over him. Then he pointed out his finger straight towards me and lipped, “Your mine!” to me. Joselyn looked at me confused and then he pointed to Joselyn and lipped, “And you!” to her.

“What the hell?!” she said

“Its on! Revenge starts today. I’m done with this!” I explained

I really didn’t think it would be appropriate to be around Trent right now. I mean, could I really like him? I didn’t think so. Him and I have always been just friends and why ruin such a good friendship if things didn’t work out. I’m only fifteen and I really don’t plan on being in such a serious relationship right now. And, if I did want to be with him, that would mean, I would have to be with him forever so I wouldn’t lose the friendship either. It would just be easier if I didn’t like him like that. So I wont, and I’m not going to let myself either. Why did Joselyn have to put that idea in my head?

“There’s that new girl. Do you want to talk to her?” Asked Joselyn in a snobby attitude.

“You know, if I didn’t know any better, I would think you like him!” I said sarcastically.

“No, I don’t. I just don’t think it’s a good idea Kenz.” she said

“Okay, then lets not talk to her. Besides its none of our business who he dates.” I said

“Ok good, lets just go now, I want to see what you have in mind for revenge.” She said.
