Changing Dimensions Ch.2

2 Weeks Later

"I know I know, I don't either okay? But we don't have any choice, what would we tell them if they found out? We've been lying for two weeks now, they may never forgive us if they find out the truth." I said quietly, and I could feel her look at me with worry. "You need to feed soon, though. You're getting sickly looking, and a bit more thin." She said, and I sighed. "I know, but how? If I drink blood they'll be able to smell it on me." I explained, if vampires went without feeding they get transparent-like and they get thinner, it's like a vampire diet not to feed. "You know, Corazon's probably pissed out of his mind that his truck isn't where it should be, so why don't I bring it back, and you stay back here and kill something. Just stay until the smell is gone, okay?" She said to me, and I shrugged. "Okay, if you think it's worth it." I said as I opened the door and got out of the truck, I wobbled a little, my strength was already very drained. "You gunna be okay?" Spade asked, and I nodded, I could already smell a few animals, it made my incisors lengthen and my eyes flash red.

The truck drove away quickly, and as soon as I could no longer hear Spade's heartbeat, I started forward, following the sweet aroma of blood in the air. A wounded coyote in the middle of the forest. That will have to do for now. At least I'm not messing up the place. I took off towards the wounded animal. I approached the animal slowly and put it out of its misery. When I was finished, I sorta felt better. Not the kind that human blood would quench. Maybe I could come across a lost hiker... NO! I shouldn't think that way. Not here. I straightened up and searched for a new pray.

When I was finished I had to find Spade. I stood in a tree completly still trying to catch a hint of Spade's scent...But the scent I did catch scared me. It was one I already knew quite well. Jerremy. "Fuuuuck." I whispered to myself while slamming my palm against my forehead mutiple times. I paced the large branch I was standing on a moment. "How'd you get up there?" I jumped and lost my footing and slipped off the branch. I was only falling for a second before strong, sturdy arms caught me. I looked up at Jerremy. "Hi." I said with a nervous chuckle as I gave him a small finger wave. "What were you doing in the tree?" He didn't look amused, a little pissed maybe. "Uh, well, theres actually a very funny story behind it. You'll probably laugh-" he cut in. "I'm not laughing yet." He said in monotone. "I'm listening." He set me on my feet. "Heh heh. Well, long story short. I.." I paused. "You lied." He finished for me. "Well lie is such a strong word. I was thinking among the lines of... stretching the truth," I said with a small smile. He looked coldly at me. "See? Funny right?" I said in a small voice. He just frowned as he began walking away from me.

I started to panic. I ran and jumped at him wrapping my arms around his ankles. "Don't tell anyone! Please promise you won't tell!" I squealed. He looked down at me with a shocked expression, now he looked a tad bit amused. He walked out of my grasp and turned, I was still sprawled out on the forest floor, and he bent down and picked me up by my arms, like a little kid. "What's in it for me?" He asked, and I looked at him blankly. "What?" I asked, and he smiled at me with an odd expression on his face. "If I don't tell, what's. In. It. For. Me?" He asked with a smirk, and I looked at him with a curious expression. "What do you want?" I asked him hesitantly, taking one step away from him. He took a step towards me. "I want Julia." He said. "Julia? But she's with Corazon." I stammered. "Thats just the problem." He said.

"I understand if you don't want to help me with my problem. I guess I won't be able to help you with your's." He almost sounded taunting. He started to walk away. "B-b-but! That's blackmail!" He looked at me. "And?" I sighed. "Fine. I'll help you. But you open your mouth to anyone, and I will tell Julia you're out to get her." I threatened. "Fine, but I want details." He said, and once again I was dumbfounded. "Details? What do you mean?" I asked, and he sighed, rolling his eyes. "What else have you lied about?" he raised his brow. I chuckled. "Like what do you want to know?" I asked. He swiftly came towards me and looked dow at me. "Everything." Was he trying to sound like a creep? If so he was doing a good job. "Define everything?" I asked. "Just a clueless girl. How cute." He laughed and started to walk away. "Do you want know or what!?" I called after him. "Of course I do. Just a little bit better place to talk besides the depths of the woods." He said. "Now c'mon." He called. I caught up to him. "You won't get all creepy on me will you?" I asked. He laughed. "No, I won't."
