Of course, I wouldn't notice that there was someone already sitting there.  He made no attempt to hide his smile.
   "Katherine, if you could please wait outside," Mr. Samuels was not pleased.
   "Of course."  I edged back towards the door, but the guy's voice stopped me.
   "That's okay, I think my schedule can wait for whatever the emergency is."  His green eyes were twinkling and my face lit up like a christmas tree.
   "No, I shouldn't have interupted," I muttered going out and nearly tripping on the way.  I arrived in English just seconds before the bell and fell into my seat.  We were reading Oedipus Rex, a wonderful story, really.  I went ahead and zoned out, my specialty.

What are we wearing to the party?

My voice questioned.  I jumped and knocked my book off the desk among snickers.  I scooped it up and thought,

I'm not sure.

It should something sexy, don't you think? College boys after all.

I am not interested in boys.

Oh, come on, you can't lie to me! I know you! You can't wait to find that guy, and we both know it.

Leave me alone, I'm trying to pay attention.

You're lying...

I heard, but they trailed off.  I paid rapt attention as Oedipus stabbed his eyes out with his mother's hair pin, not wanting another encounter.
