My name is Katherine, but I prefer Kay.  You can call me what you like though, I really don't care.  I'm your average girl, and no this isn't one of those stories where I'm secretly beautiful but just don't realize it, I really am average, a wallflower if you will.  I live with my mom and dad in North Carolina and I attend Bayview High, Class of 09.  My best freind moved away three years ago.  We still talk every week, just not every day.  I go to visit her when I can and I will be mentioning her from time to time, her name's Michelle.  Today's the fourth day of school and I couldn't care less, I have a few sorta friends, you know the ones who wave to you in the hallway, but wouldn't actually hang out with you.  Anyway, I know this is like terminally boring, but it will get better, I promise you, I just feel that all of this is slightly neccessary and will come into play later, but, moving on, I have to get to school.

    "You'll never guess what happened last night!"  Jamie squealed running up after third period.
    "What?" I qusetioned eyes still on my books.
    "Guess!"  I rolled my eyes, my locker the only thing seeing this gesture.
    "You just said I never would, so just tell me," I sigh.
    "I got us an invite to a collage party!"
    "You want me to go?" I question dryly, not quite believing it, "Wait, who cancelled?"
    "No one- oh alright!  Kara and Beth, but it'll still be fun!!! Please? My parents won't let me go alone..." she whines.  I give my head a slight shake, opening my mouth to say 'no', but another voice answers,
    "Alright, sounds cool."  My mouth frowns in disbelief, what had just happened?

Come on! When are you going to start living? It won't last forever you know!

I slam my locker shut, eyes nearly bulging out of my head, I'm hearing voices now???  I turn to Jamie, but she's already skipped off, great.  I rush to my counselor's office, nearly trampling some eighth graders that were touring the building.  They give frightened shrieks like mice and fall over eachother trying to stop, they were going to have to get much better at smooth stops to navigate these halls.  "Mr. Samuels, I need help." I exclaim barging into his office and shutting the door quickly.
