The Untold Secret - Chapter Six (Finally!)
|
Author's Note: Hey guys, terribly sorry it has taken me SOOOO long to write this! HAHA. Just got real busy with college and have had some medical issues. But hopefully Chapter Seven will not take as long as this one has....Hope it meets ya'lls standards and is as good as the other chapters. Thanks for the ratings :D :D KEEP RATING/COMMENTING IF YOU WANT MORE!!!!!!! :D :D
He pushes and shoves the weeping children down the hall way towards the cafeteria. Teachers reassuring their students that everything is going to be okay, as guns wave past their heads. Cherry plays with one boys silky chocolate hair, Tyler’s hair. His green eyes searching frantically for his friends. Cherry smiles, her fingers entwining with the few strands it captures. Radio chatter filling in the sounds in the background. He stares down at his watch, the small silver hand ticking slowly towards 11:15 a.m. Sighing he pushes the children fiercely forwards. Grunts of pain passing their lips as the butt of the gun hits their back. His eyes tear away from the front to peer back to the rest of the group, his eyes resting on Cherry who is occupied in toying with one of the students. Her lips grazing against Tyler’s cheek, leaving dull traces of bright red lipstick. Her eyes capture her boyfriend’s, her lips retreating.
"Alright hurry up!" He yells ushering them into the dining area. The cooks already sitting down at one table, their eyes wide with fright as a man with a gun stands behind them. He nods to the man, as the students rush in huddling close together as they sit together. He rests the gun on his hip as he watches them scurry inside. Halting one teacher he pushes her to the side next to him. She fixes her glasses holding her arms to her chest. The pink hair of his girlfriend stands out between the sea of forest green jackets and plaid skirts. Waiting for a few more minutes for all the students and faculty to take their seats. He grabs the arm of the teacher dragging her along into the middle of the cafeteria where their eyes can not seem to peel away from him. Before he could speak, a voice came on the radio telling him that a door was locked on the fourth floor. Sighing deeply he presses his fingers to his temples, rubbing them slowly. Pushing the teacher aside, he nods for Cherry to watch them as he walks out of the room.
"Well, get into that room. I don’t care what it takes! We need to get this done fast!" He hisses, his temper rising more to it’s boiling point. A silent vibrating comes from his left pants pocket. Taking it out slowly he sees the doctor’s name illuminating across the screen. Rolling his eyes he places it back in his pocket. Pushing the doors back open he hears the gasps of the students. "Where is the Dean?" He yells out to the crowd. Eyes dart across the room. He waits impatiently as no one volunteers. Gritting his teeth he grabs a student placing the gun to her temple as she whimpers.
"Wait! Wait, I am the Dean." Peddler says, standing up cautiously, his hand slightly raising in the air. A man grabs him tightly by the arm pushing him towards the middle of the room.

I press my finger to my quivering lips as I duck down behind one of the dissecting tables. Melody hesitates as she unlocks the door backing up a couple of feet in front of me. We hear the voice of the man telling him that someone just unlocked the door. The rattling of the doorknob sounds as the hinges barely squeak open. I kneel, watching him as he approaches Melody with a grin. Before he came in she hoisted her skirt up a little more and unbuttoned a few of the top buttons on her ivory blouse. The man lowers his gun, glancing around the room shortly as his wet tongue wiggles across his thin lips. Melody continues to back up until her back is met with the hard surface of a table top. A low cackle rumbles through his throat as he thinks they are alone. The cackle then immediately turns into a gurgling sound as a dissecting utensil protrudes from his neck. Small spurts of blood spouting out. Melody quickly closes her eyes as I grab her hand whisking her out of the way, watching the lifeless body fall to the ground.
"You okay?" I ask, taking her hands in mine. Our eyes meeting. I get lost in them as they twinkle back at me. She shows a smile along with a nod as I turn back to the body. A voice on the radio ruining our moment. Great timing. I scoff as I kneel on one knee next to the body, grabbing the radio and his gun. Licking my lips I take her hand, warm to the touch and soft. Like a fleece blanket. How I would love to just hold her hand forever. A hand of an angel. Halting at the door I peer around into the desolate hallway. No teacher yelling for the students to hurry up and get to class. No laughter. It was eery. I can feel her hand tighten as I stuck my head out of our only sanctuary. Looking back at her I gave a soft smile. "It’s okay, no one is up here." I whisper to her. My head racing with a thousand thoughts on what we should do. None of them good. I race back inside the room, closing the door behind us. Melody stares at me with confusion.
"What are we doing?" She whispers still, her eyes bouncing around the room. I shrug not really knowing the answer. Who am I to kid? I’m not some masterful genius with a million ways to trick these guys. This isn’t a movie where the script is already written and the ending is a happy one. I keep shaking my head as I flush away all the ideas that pop up. I stop, propping myself up against a table. Looking around the science room. Melody is sitting on one of the stools, playing with the gas handle on the table. A voice comes on the radio once more, furious that the dead man has not responded. Melody jumps, her nerves returning to her. I swallow hard. Unsure of whether to answer it or let him continue yelling until he sends someone else up here.
I turn the radio off, my hands searching through my hair as I breath out heavily. Okay, think! We have Acid, a little extreme but effective. We have burners. We got dissecting tools, which are nice and quiet. I shake my head once more, still indecisive. Instead of taking one thing I grab a book bag that was left behind, emptying the books and folders I proceed to fill it up with the portable burners and dissecting tools. I also grab a couple of spray cans. The acid going in a separate bag that I hand to Melody. Her brow is raising as she takes the bag with caution. I give a quick smile, and twist the knob on the radio. The static of the radio swells into our earlobes, almost a soothing lullaby. Relief washing over me as I head towards the door. Before I can open it the handle is already twisting open. Melody gasps as it swings open, another man stands at the door, gun pointing at us. I look at Melody my eyes floating to the book bag in her hand then to the man. She narrows her eyes unsure of what I mean. I stare intently at the bag once more and then move to the guard who is grabbing the radio. I mouth to her ‘the acid’. She nods slowly, gripping the bag she unzips it slowly, the guard still fumbling with his radio. The static rumbling, not relaying his message to the others. Meanwhile she has a glass bottle in her hand, the clear liquid sloshing about. I clear my throat, the guard looks up only to be met with the shatter off glass and acid on his face.
He crumbles to the floor holding his face, grunting in pain. The sizzling of his skin sounds like bacon being thrown into a grease pan. Before he can yell out he collapses to the floor, unconscious from the intense pain. The smell of cooking skin slithering up into the air, enough to make me gag. Staring down at him and his bubbling face I tell Melody to go to the elevator without me. Without hesitation she steps over the body rushing down the hallway. I kneel down, holding my breath so I won’t throw up. The sounds itself just as sickening. I swing my bag around taking out the small scissors we use to cut open the frog. Swallowing I grasp it in my hand firmly. Biting my dry bottom lip I swing down on the man’s left eye. Pus and blood flowing out as a release of air escapes what is left of his mouth. I couldn’t let him suffer like that, let alone wake up and tell the others. My hands shook fiercely as I struggle to zip the zipper. A Faint voice comes from down the hall. Finally zipping it I pop out around the edge, Seeing Melody standing by herself, whispering on the phone. Must be calling the police again. I say, peering down at my watch. They should be here in another hour. Shaking my head at the one who had the bright idea of building a school three hours away from town. Standing I step over the body rushing towards her. She looks my way, then hangs up the phone abruptly.
"Hey. Who were you calling?" I ask pressing the up button. My foot rapidly tapping the glossy floor beneath us. My head aching from all the stress and worry. The thoughts of my friends being down there with those maniacs. The door dings open as we hop inside. I stare at her, still waiting for her answer. She looks around as if she has completely forgot I asked it. "Well? You gonna tell me?" I ask resting on the bar.
"Oh, yeah. I was calling the police to see how long we have until they show up." She smirks, crossing her arms. "They said it would be another hour or so until they get here." She shakes her head. Pulling myself off of the bar I rest my hand on her shoulder. Reassuring her that I wouldn’t let anything happen to her. She smiles, laying her head on mine. The truth is, I wasn’t really sure if I could protect myself, let alone her. Guess it just sounded good at the time.
