When the bell rang at 1:35pm I half ran to my car.

I got in and headed south. 

I started putting lines together in my mind. 

I knew exactly what I needed right now. To be in the studio.  

A few years back, when I was a freshman, I met a guy who owned a studio. He is a producer named Roger Downier who has produced lots of people who are famous now. Jason Evans, Corey Laniary, Shane Zanier and more. 

I told him my situation with my dad, and he promised what ever we recorded would stay between us. 

I arrived at his studio and walked into the humongous building. I took the elevator to the tenth floor and walked to his door.

I tapped lightly on the glass because I saw his red light on. 

He nodded for me to come in. 

“Hey superstar. How’s it goin’?” He asked as I closed the door behind me.  

I smiled and took a seat next to him. “Fine I guess. Bad day yesterday, I’m better today. Just wanted to come in to let the creativity flow. Of course I’ll wait until he’s done.” 

He returned the gesture smiling as big as ever.  

I stared though the glass, looking at the man there.  

It was my stranger from the coffee shop.

His eyes were closed and his lips moved softly singing his words. He might have felt me staring at him because he opened his eyes and looked at me. A small smile grew on his lips as he saw my face. 

“He’s new. Came to town about a month ago. I saw him in a café on the lower west side. He’s nineteen, came all the way from Spain.” Roger informed me.

I sat back with Roger and watched.

I listened to his gold voice flow and I was memorized.  

When he was finished, he stepped into the room with me and Roger to listen to his cut.  

After the first two run troughs he nodded in approval and turned to me.  

“Your turn.”  I smiled and walked into the sound room. I put on the head phones and motioned for Roger to play my beat.

It came on and I closed my eyes. 

“Time fly’s by and I still miss your face. I miss your touch, your warm embrace. Come back to me please and hold me tight. I want you here with me tonight.” 

The words just flowed out from my lips. It was all too natural. 

After I finished my cut, I walked back into the room were Roger and my stranger sat listening to me.  

“What’d I tell you? She’s amazing right?” Roger said as I walked in. 

I felt heat rising to my face. 

My stranger agreed instantly looking at me. “Yes. I did not expect any less.” 

I smiled. “Thanks you guys. Thanks again Roger, but I’m going to take off now, I’ll see you maybe tomorrow.” 

I turned to my stranger. “It was nice to see you.” 

He smiled at me. “We will see each other again soon.” 

It wasn’t a question; it wasn’t a demand, just a fact as if he knew.  

I looked into those all knowing black eyes that looked all too familiar and smiled. “See ya stranger.” 

I walked out the door and into the elevator.
