Meet The Parents.

We had been together for about nine months, when he told me he had a surprise for me.

We drove to his house.

I looked at him. “Your house? I’ve been here before.”

And I had. But only downstairs. Never in his room, or anything upstairs. He rolled his eyes at my impatience. We got out of the car and went inside. He led me towards the kitchen.

“Hey mama.” He kissed her forehead.

“Hola mijo. So you must be Lisa. I’ve heard so much about you.”

I shook her hand. “It’s nice to meet you Ms. Gomez.”

She smiled.

I was glad he took me to meet the woman who saved him from his mother. 

We sat and ate. She asked about my life and my dad. She asked about my grades and what I wanted to do after high school. 

After about half an hour, she looked at Kevin and said “Nino, me gusto mucho. [[I like her a lot.]] But now I’m tired and want to rest. Why don’t you take her upstairs and have fun. Pero, not too much fun.” She smiled and went to another set of stairs that lead to a den.

He took me to his room. It was different then I had expected. I was big. It had a huge king sized bed and a dresser. There was a book shelf and a T.V. He had all kinds of posters on his wall. Daddy Yankee, 50cent and others. Then I saw it, and smiled.

It was a white t-shirt with mine and his names tagged on it.

I looked at him.“That’s sweet. Why didn’t you ever show me?”

He rolled his eyes and came over to where I was standing, wrapped his arms around my waist and put his chin on my shoulder.

“Because. I didn’t think you’d want to see it.”

I playfully hit his arm. “You know I would have liked it.”

“Yea, well I just wanted it all to my self.”

He kissed my neck, my cheek, then my lips. I let my body take over then. My lips and his moved together. We started moving towards the bed and I fell on to it. His weight on top of me. I tried to catch my breath.

He pushed his self up lifting some of his weight off of me, but still not letting me get up.

“So, you ready to go?” He asked

“Go? Go where?” I asked completely unaware of what he was talking about.

He smiled. “To your house of course. So I can meet your dad.”

I laughed. “You’re kidding right?”

He looked down at me and pecked my lips. “No.” peck. “I’m” peck. “So.” Peck. “Serious.” Kiss.

It was just like every time he kissed me. Amazing.

He pulled away. “So are we going or what?”

I rolled my eyes. “Fine.” 

We got to my house and went inside. It was around 7:45Pm. My dad would be home any moment. We sat in the kitchen just talking like we normally did, when the door opened and my dad walked past the kitchen.

“Daddy?” I called to him.

He looked over at me confused and started into the kitchen. “I thought you’d be with- oh.”

He saw Kevin sitting at the island and stopped short.

“Daddy, I’d like you to meet Kevin.”

My dad straightened up, put his brief case on the table and shook Kevin’s hand firmly.

“So you’re the boy that’s been keeping my daughter occupied for the past, what is it, ten months.”

“It’s nice to meet you sir.”

“You too. Finally.” He shot a teasing look my way.

I rolled my eyes and went to the fridge to grab drinks. 

After my dad grilled Kevin and made sure that we weren’t having sex, he let us go up to my room.

He had never been in my room either, so I let him poke around in some of my stuff.

He looked at some of my books that were lying around and some pictures I had on my mirror and walls. 

Diego called then and I answered. He asked if Kevin and I wanted to go to the movies with him and Janice. [[His newest girl.]]

I looked to Kevin to see what he thought. He nodded and smiled. I told Diego yes and said I’d see him tomorrow.

After I hung up, Kevin looked at me.

“That wasn’t so bad now was it?”

“You’re kidding right? That was horrifying! But you were excellent. How do you do it?”

He looked at me mysteriously while picking up a book from my desk. The Pillars of the earth.

He smiled. “Nerd book.”

I rolled my eyes “You still didn’t answer my question.”

He put the book down and turned serious. “I just kept reminding my self, I’m doing it all for you.”

Kevin got to stay till about 10:30pm. Then my dad kicked him out because it was a school night.
