        “Hey Chris. I’m sorry about this but-“

Chyrstal stopped him. “No need to explain. I understand.” 

“Thanks Chris,” Johnny said and hugged her. “Cherry pajamas, very mature.” Johnny teased.

“Shut up!” she shoved him playfully “I happen to love these pj’s.”

He laughed “here.” He said and handed her a box.

“What’s this for?”

“You didn’t think I forgot did you?” he questioned with a puzzled look on his face.

“Well...uh yea I did.”

“Hey, hey, hey now, have I ever forgotten?”

“Well no, but you weren’t there tonight, so I really didn’t know what to think…you weren’t there tonight, so I just thought-“

She stopped, she didn’t know what to say.     

   “You think I could forget my best friends’ birthday?! Wow. I’m surprised at you. Now I’m forced to make you open this box.”

“Johnny! I hate presents! You know this!”

“Yes and every year we’ve hade the same argument…do I have to win again this time?”

“Well it’s been, what ,7 years? I guess I can give you a break this year. I gave Niko one too.” Chyrstal looked at the box. “Was it expensive? If it was, lie to me.”

“No it wasn’t. I swear.”

Chyrstal slowly opened the box. “Oh my gosh Johnny! It’s gorgeous!”

Johnny walked behind her and took the box and removed the beautiful silver necklace. He moved his arms around her neck and gently clipped the necklace in place then he hugged her. “Happy birthday.” He said

“Thank you Johnny so, so much. It’s so beautiful.”

“Your welcome, it reminded me of you, I knew you loved hearts so, there you go.”

“You’re so great Johnny. Well I have work in the morning. So ill see you later?”

“Well I won’t be here when you wake up.”

“K. ‘Night Johnny.”

 As she walked back to her room, she heard the TV turn on. She shook her head and turned on the light. She looked in her mirror at her reflection. She loved the necklace. She took it off and put it in its box; she couldn’t sleep with it on as much as she wanted to.
