We drove for a while not talking. I guess everyone had a lot on their mind. Sarah was singing Nursery Rhymes and pretending that her doll was flying around in the air. We pulled up to an average house. It was gray with cranberry colored shutters. "here we are, home sweet home." trent said. I was assuming he was trying to make light of the gloomy day.
He helped Sarah out and fumbled to get his key to unlock the door. He finally got it in and turned the knob. he was definatly a bachelor. Deer heads hung on the walls atop the hunting style paneled wall. He had a huge TV and a recliner positioned perfectly in front of it. There was a couch but it was in the corner away from the TV area.
Maggie and Sarah looked exhausted, Trent noticed and offered for them to take a nap in their bed. They accepted and found their way to the bedroom. Trent opened the fridge in search of something to eat. Its funny I was hungry but i hadnt noticed until now. I guess all of the events of the day took my attention from my grumbling belly. He pulled out of course steaks and fries. He turned the oven on and threw the fries in without letting it preheat. then he got out a frying pan and turned the front left burner on on the stove. "how do you like your steak?" he asked.
"Medium well." I answered
"Medium well it is." he said smiling at me with a little wink. While the steak cooked we talked a little. "Kristin I dont know what it is about you. but there is something that is making me crazy!"
I didnt really know how to respond to that. "is that a good thing?" I asked.
"Yeah i think it is. I feel like ive known you forever and I would love to really get to know you! I know that doesnt make any sense but since ive met you nothing makes sense!" he exclaimed.
"Well i like you too if thats what you are trying to say!" i answered. And the truth was that I really did like him. He was sweet and intellegent and just a genuinly caring person.
We ate the steak and learned some about each other. we decided to watch a movie. He chose Grease. I hadnt seen that movie in so long and was excited to see it. He moved the recliner and i helped him move the couch so it was in front of the TV. While I grabbed a blanket to cuddle under he went to the kitchen and came back with two glasses of red wine.
"thanks I love Lambrusco!." i told him
"me too its really the only wine I like. Im usually more of a beer man but I enjoy a glass of wine now and then." He sat down beside me and put his arm around my shoulders. I loved being close to him pulling in his scent.
It wasnt far into the movie before we were kissing. He was an amazing kisser and touched me like i was delicate. he caressed my hair and just made me feel so special.
