i wear a smile on my lips like a little black dress that covers my imperfections. no one can hear the secrets that i'm telling or see the scars that remind me not to fall and not to fail. do you know me, do you see me? are you sure of these thoughts of yours? i am a facade in the desert offering water that turns to sand. these dark eyes of mine tell no lies but also speak of the many untruths i have told- mainly to myself. some can see that i feel darker things that i keep hidden and isolated, these unspoken words cannot become reality because of the feelings deep in my soul. i do not fear pain or loneliness or regret. i fear craving pain, taking love for granted, and regretting nothing. i will dance like no ones watching and sing like i'm a sparrow and you will think that i am happy and content but i am a broken girl that has a beautiful song but no voice to sing it with. this smile of mine is the biggest lie i have ever told because i deny my depression and forget my disappointments. i want what i can't have and take what i can get and forget about the implications of another heart breaking...
