IF i COULD ONLY BE ACHILLES
|
My breath gets heavy with anticipation. It plumes forward because it is so cold. I look around at all my fellow warriors. All of them staring forward at the enemy....in a trance. It is dawn, and the obnoxious wet blanket of dew still glistens on the wheat blades. The calm before the storm. The enemy is restless too. Their flags wave in the barely existing wind. Their drummer plays their idle tune...BUM!!..BUM!!...BUM!! . The sound waves carry across the soon to be battle field and bury itself into your chest. It makes you nervous. I unsheathe my broad sword, and engage in a combative stance. The whole front line follows my mark. It sounded as if someone had dropped a massive box of silver. Our drummer plays our idle tune. BUM!!!...BUM-BUM!!!...BUM!!! That anticipation gets heavy. I give my men a final speach. " I know you fear what today will bring. I know your arms delay with the poison of uncertainty. You have fought with me through hundreds of battles, and across thousands of miles. Side by side we have together conguered many of men. This day is no different. I ask you Myrmidon now for the sake of glory...FIGHT FOR ME AGAIN!!Let the ages hear your name for centuries to come. Let the people whisper your name as you walk through their towns. (They start pounding their spears and swords on the ground. I rumbles in cadence through the air.) Destroy this mass as if it disrespects your family. FIGHT FOR YOUR NAME!!!!!" They cry a battle cry so loud that it could take the bark off any given tree. I see the enemy fall aback with fear. "LOOK IN THEIR EYES!!!" "TO THE END" And with that they rush forward like a human tsunami. Their massive limbs built by the deaths of many, pound the ground with a thunderous thud. Our two fronts collide like two storms... My sword slashes through my first piece of flesh, and he falls like a lifeless doll...still convulsing as the nerves that I severed dies. My Myrmidon swell the battle field, and engulf their sad excuse for a defence. One after one I destroy all who oppose me or doubt my superior fighting ability. When all is said and done....everyone of them lay in a dirty pool of their own blood. Sharing the same dimise as everyone else who stands in the way of the Myrmidon. I raise my bloody broad sword in the air. The men scream with achievment. Their arms numb with exhaustion. THE GODS WILL KNOW YOUR FACE...YOUR ENEMIES WILL HEAR YOUR VOICE....AND EVERONE WILL REMEMBER YOUR NAME!!!!

achillies was great, but if we fail to see the whole story, then we have lost the meaning of all....lest we forget the weakness? the reason i read this story was because i had severed my achillies tendon and i am interested in nearly anything that relates to me...i like the story though, keep it up |

Actually just for the record, I wrote this from my mind, as I do all my writings. Please refrain from commenting your ignorance on my pieces. Thanks. |

This is just a rewritting of one of Achillies battles, this should be under the non-fiction sections not creative. |
