Abel was by the cliff-side tendiing his flocks. The chasm was deep, an open pit, a cut in the earth. Cain hid in the bushes of the Garden. He spied on Abel. Why must God love him so, more than myself? Abel, a keeper of the flock, and I, the tiller of the ground? Cain had been spying on Abel for some time now, every day. He provided meat year-round, while Cain was only able to provide vegetables during the harvest season and the summer.

But the envy had been welling up inside Cain. Cain and Abel had to raise each other, for their parents, Adam and Eve, had been cast out of Eden for disobeying God. The brothers had a very strong love for God, being so young and being so close to him. But despite his love, envy, a mortal sin, had been wellin up inside Cain for a long time, and now it took him over, clouded his mind.

Cain picked up a stone about the size of a fist off the ground. It had a sharp end on it. A dark voice filled his mind, Just do it, it said, just kill him. He is not better than you. He is inferior, and will only make you look bad. Look at him, he is disgusting. Take the stone Cain, end him. Cain nodded. He walked out of the bushes, fire in his eyes. Abel looked up from the sheep, "Oh, Cain. What brings you here?" Cain did not answer. His blood was boiling, he was not himself. Abel spotted the stone in his hand, "Cain, what's the matter?" Cain kept striding toward him, "Cain, what are you doing with that stone," he said, as Cain raised it, "Cain?" He brought it down, but Abel, younger and more agile, rolled out of the way.

Cain lunged at him, tackling him to the ground. Abel struggled. The twisted over and over again. Abel was worried, why is he doing this, he thought, he is my brother, what did I do? Cain kept trying to hit Abel with the stone. The two kept writhing and wrestling, rolling over and over. Abel finally kicked Cain off and jumped up. The two circled each other. Abel was so scared, what was posessing his brother? Anger burned like hellfire in Cain. He stood by the edge of the cliff, Abel opposite him. Abel ran at him, trying his best not to knock him backward, just to get him on the ground so he could calm down.

Abel ran at him fast, but Cain just stepped out of the way. Abel tripped over a stone and fell. He fell into the gaping mouth of the earth, and into the black abyss. Cain ran to the edge, and saw his brother fall, he tried to reach out, feeling remorse, but Abel was too far. He was gone. Gone forever.

Cain dropped to his knees and put down the stone. He wept so hard his face burned. He Killed his brother. How could he? His brother! Cain punched the dirt. The sky suddenly clouded and darkened. A booming voice filled the air, "CAIN!" God said, "WHERE IS YOUR BROTHER?" Cain heard the anger in God's voice that made the earth shake. Cain winced, then looked up, "I do not know Lord. Am I his keeper?" (Gen 4:9) "DO NOT LIE TO ME. THE VOICE OF YOUR BROTHER'S BLOOD CRIES UP TO ME FROM THE EARTH." (Gen 4:10) Cain put his face in his hands and sobbed. God yelled down, "THIS IS YOUR PUNISHMENT: YOU SHALL BE BANISHED FROM EDEN. AND THE EARTH WILL NOT COOPERATE FOR YOU. YOU MUST FIND A NEW PROFFESION. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TILL THE GROUND." Cain cried up, "But my Lord God, this is too great to bare. I cannot do this. I will not be able to know you Lord, and any man whom I might meet might try to kill me!" So God said "THEN VENGEANCE WILL BE TAKEN ON  HIM SEVENFOLD.(Gen 4:15) NOW OFF YOU GO. YOU ARE BANISHED FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH AND FROM THE FACE OF ME." So Cain gathered his things and his wife and left Eden.

He came to a place called Nod. He had a child with his wife, that God had created for him. But then he left them, and he lived within a cave, a dark, dismal pit, where the monsters and demons of the earth grew from him. Satan had taken his heart, and now Satan's work was once agian coming from Cain. Agony filled him to the breaking point, the monsters and demons crawled from his mouth as he gave birth to evil. They left the cave and rampaged the earth, leaving Cain to die.
