'Till the Sun Burns Out-Prologue
|
Note to the reader: this part takes place in the middle of the story, not the beginning
Rick walked down the dusty red dirt road. His white undershirt was sticking on to him in the Virginia July heat. He loosened his suspenders and kept on walking.
He took off his hat. Sweat dripped off his eyebrows. The road from Colorado was hard, strenuous. But it brought him here. It brought him standing in front of her house in Virginia.
Ready for her to accept him. The question was, would she?
He had traveled a hard road, oh what a hard, hard road, just to be here. Just to be at her doorstep. Now, he had to take another leap. Take a jump out on the ledge.
