Tossing the empty chips bag in the plastic garbage container they placed on the floor, Cam resumed her seat on the couch next to Dar, who seemed to think he ruled it. He laid stretched out on it, his feet, much to Cam’s distaste, resting on her legs. No matter how many times she shoved them off, he put them right back where they were and spread out even farther, until Cam had to cram herself next to the arm of the couch.

"And out comes the real Dar." Cam commented, snatching the remote from his hand and going to Video 1 and hitting play.

"Hey!" Dar stated, hoisting himself with the help of tugging on Cam to grab the remote back. "I was watching that."

"So, I’d rather watch a movie." Cam commented, "And were here because of me so bugger off."

Dar snarled, moving himself so hit feet were underneath him now before he lunged at Cam, who responded with a scream.

They both flipped over the couch arms and landed on the floor with a loud thud. It seemed to echo off the high walls and then it dawned on Cam that Dar was on top of her wrestling for the remote.

"No-" She said through gritted teeth as she wiggled around beneath him, "You’re not getting it back." With that said, Cam chucked the remote over their heads and it went soaring in the air to land on the floor with a clatter on the other side of the couch. Dar was up and for it before Cam could blink, but she jumped up quick enough and grabbed his retreating ankle and pulled. Dar hit the floor with a smack and groan as Cam stepped on him to get to where she wanted to go. As she jumped up on the couch, she wobbly ran to the other side and jumped off with Dar not far behind her.

Snatching the remote, Cam ran back towards the kitchen, unable to help but laugh. This was hilarious. She barley knew her new brother and here they were acting as if they had grown up together. Okay, so maybe Dar was an asshole all the time. He was nice now, sort of.

"Cam!" He roared, chasing after her, blood flowing from his nose. One hand covered pinched the bridge of his nose while he ran the other trying to grab Cam’s shirt.

Cam laughed, glancing behind her and then skidding to stop. She hadn’t realized she’d given him a nose bleed. Dar tried to slow himself down but his socks slide across the kitchen floor and he crashed into Cam, sending them both to the floor with a groan.

"Ow." Cam muttered, feeling the back of her head. There was definitely going to be a giant egg sized bump later on.

Cam shoved Dar from off of her and stood up, using the counter’s edge for support. Helping Dar up a few minutes later, she made him sit in on a island stool and then rummaged around the kitchen until she found the garbage can. "Lean your head over this, continue to pinch the bridge of your nose and let the blood continue to flow."

"Isn’t that bad?" Dar asked, his voice sounding wheezy.

"No. Just continue to pinch." She ordered as she left him with the bucket to find a washcloth or towel.

Finding the towel sooner, Cam soaked it in warm water and then went back to Dar where she gently wiped away the wet and drying blood from his face, free hand, and neck. "Sorry." She stated, voice quiet.

Dar shrugged, "So’k. You didn’t mean it. We just got carried away in our fun."

"You know," Cam stated, refolding the towel to a cleaner section before going back to working on cleaning Dar’s neck, "Your not half bad. When I first met you, I thought you were the biggest asshole."

"Thanks." Dar muttered.

"Your welcome." Cam stated. After a few seconds the two burst out laughing, which didn’t help with Dar’s bloody nose.

"There." Cam stated, pulling away. The towel no longer a crisp white but stained red with blood. "All clean. Though we’ll have to find you another shirt and wash this one." She commented, tugging gently on Dar’s shirt.

Cam gave Dar a small smile as she went and dug through the freezer and pulled out a bag of frozen peas. Closing the freezer door, Cam placed the bag of frozen vegetables on the back of her head and then pulled up a stool next to Dar.

"You look like an idiot with that bag of peas." Dar chuckled, letting go of his nose as he determined he was no longer bleeding.

"Says the guy who just got beaten up by his step sister." Cam retorted, dryly, though she rolled her eyes in Dar’s direction.

"You didn’t beat me." Dar shot back, "I let you win."

"Uh huh." Cam stated, resting her elbow against the counter top for support. "Sure you did."

Dar didn’t respond, merely giving Cam a glare. "Do you have your school stuff for tomorrow?" He asked, changing the subject completely.

Cam was thrown for a loop and it took her a few minutes to realize what Dar was talking about. She hated when people did that, randomly change topics in the middle of a discussion, though they hadn’t really been talking. Same thing. She thought before she wrinkled her nose. "No." She spoke, "It’s all at my house."

Dar sighed, "Great." He muttered, "All right, well stay here. I’ll be back shortly."

"Where are you going?" Cam asked, standing up when Dar placed the garbage can back on the floor. Heading towards him, Cam adjusted the bag of peas on her head.

"I’m going to get you your school things." Dar told her as he slipped his shoes back on and retied them. "So stay here and make sure you put. I’d hate to have to come back to find you dead or something."

"Aww…" Cam replied sarcastically, "You’re so sweet."

"Nope, just don’t feel like explaining to the police why there’s a dead body in my house." Dar responded carelessly.

Cam scowled and nudged Dar towards the door, rising a laugh from her brothers lips. "Just go get my stuff."

Dar nodded and jogged down the small flight of steps to the front door. Resting against one of the pillars, Cam watched as Dar slowly opened the door, slipped outside and closed it behind him.

A nagging feeling clawed at Cam’s stomach as she paced the living room, watching for Dar’s return. Was she suddenly crushing on her step brother? Ugh, so NOT cool! She yelled at herself as she chewed on her bottom lip. Of course, Dar wasn’t really related to her if she thought about it, so she could date him if it ever came to that. Cam stopped dead in her tracks.
"What the hell am I thinking?!" She hollered to herself, smacking the side of her head with her palms.

"I don’t know." A male voice replied and Cam gave out a small scream. Dar laughed as he came up behind her and tossed her bag on the couch, his arms wrapping around her waist in a hug. "I know what you were thinking." He purred in her ear and Cam froze. Dar’s fingers crept slowly up beneath Cam’s shirt, the thin limbs ice cold. A shiver ran down Cam’s spine as Dar gently placed kisses over the thin skin of her neck, his tongue trailing lightly over her collarbone.

"You’d rather have me then Lohin."

"No," Cam gasped out, as Dar nibbled the sensitive flesh, his fingers just brushing her bra line.

"Good." Dar stated, his voice changing to that of Lohin’s. "Because I’d have to hurt you if you did." He hissed, shoving Cam away from him. Cam hit the floor hard, skidding against the elegant tiles and causing her skin to burn in places. Hissing at the pain, she glanced up to see Lohin before her, his eyes dark and a new look on his face. Pure anger and hate. Leaning towards her, Lohin pulled Cam up by the front of her shirt, "If I find out your feelings have changed you’ll-"

Cam woke with a scream as her bag was tossed in her lap. Breathing hard, one of her hands clutched her forehead, while the other grabbed her chest. Eyes wild, they flew around the room, trying to spot Lohin in some hidden corner, but all she saw was the living room and Dar staring at her confused.

"You okay?" He asked, plopping down next to her.

"No." She whispered, her breathing slowly going back to normal as Dar slowly drew circles on the small of her back.

The touch caused Cam to flinch and Dar pulled his hand away, clearing his throat. "What happened?" He asked.

"Dream." She commented, "I had a dream."
"About?" Dar inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"Well…" Cam hesitated, glancing at her step brother. "First it was with me and you. You had just come back from getting my stuff and things got kind of..."

"Kind of…?" Dar asked, waving his hands for more information.

"Intimate." Cam responded, not looking at her step brother. Which was a good thing, because the look he had on his face was that of shock and confusion.

"Okay…" He stated, slowly.

"And then you said ‘I liked you more that Lohin’ and when I responded ‘No’," Dar’s face fell slightly, but Cam didn’t see. "you said ‘Good’. Then your voice changed to Lohin’s and you transformed into him."

"Then what?" Dar asked, his eyes glued to Cam though his mind was working a mile a minute trying to think of what all this meant.

"Then Lohin said ‘Because I’d have to hurt you if you did’ and then he pushed me. I skid across the floor and then he grabbed me by the collar of my shirt and hissed ‘If I find out your feelings have changed you’ll’ and then I woke up."

Dar swore, "I told you he was bad!" He yelled, standing up to face Cam.

"How do I know it’s not just a dream!" She yelled back, taking the side of her future husband. "Not all dreams come true."

"Fairy dreams do." Dar responded, gnawing on his bottom lip. "They always do." Dar paced a bit, back and forth in front of the TV screen which glowed an eerie white before Cam turned it off.

How long had she been out for? Glancing around she found a clock above the mantel piece of the fireplace. It read 12:45. Wow. She thought, turning her attention back to Dar.

"What took you so long?" She asked.

Dar stopped in the middle of his pacing and eyed her. "The cops are swarming your place. I had to sneak in, find all your things, which might I add were spewed out around the house, and then sneak out unseen. To make sure I wasn’t being followed, I took a different route back here. A longer one, but one that would of given away anyone who would have thought to have been following."

"Oh." Cam responded, yawning.

"Go to bed." Dar ordered, "I’ll be right up after I clean this place up."

Cam without even bothering to argue, did as Dar responded. The dream she had just experience freaked her the Hell out. Sleep now would probably come willingly and without dreams.
