Romance Created on 7-14-07 Views(183) Story Rating G

Cam pulled into Lohin’s driveway and whistled, eyes wide. "And I thought I had money." She whispered, turning her car off and stepping out of the drivers seat. Stuffing her keys back into her pocket, Cam headed to the front door, her nerves on overdrive. God, this is going to be so weird! She thought, stopping at the front door. Debating whether she should knock or ring the door bell, Cam stood stupidly on the door step. Sighing, Cam decided to knock. As soon as her knuckles rapped on the door, it opened and there stood Lohin.

"I was wondering when you were going to get here. Get lost?" He asked, opening the door wider for her to enter.

"Um, no." She said, stepping through the threshold and into the foyer of the home. Immediately, she realized it was the place from her dream. The beautiful foyer seemed to glow with lights and candles. "It’s gorgeous." She whispered, eyes lingering on everything, taking it in and storing it for later.

"You’re new home…eventually." Lohin stated, closing the door behind him and leading Cam into a room off the left of the foyer, which Cam realized was a family room. She ignored Lohin’s comment, for the time being, as she sat down in a love seat. Lohin sat next to her, and Cam placed her hands in her lap, bit her lip and waited. Silence fell about them and Cam glanced around her.

"So. . ." She said quietly, turning slightly in her seat and stared at Lohin. But he wasn’t there. Again. "Bloody Hell. Where’d you go, Lohin?" She asked, turning back around to try and find him. Not wanting to get up and wander around the house, Cam sat stationed where she was in the love seat. Moments passed and Lohin returned into the room with his parents. Oh boy. She thought, standing with a smile. Here we go. "Hello." She said, holding her hands out to the Lohin’s mother, who bypassed her hand and took her into a hug, Lohin’s father doing the same.

An hour passed by and Cam stood deadly still in her seat, mouth slightly agape. "You’re kidding." She stated, chuckling. Lohin and his parents stared at her. Standing, Cam gave them a curt nod. "I’ll see you at school Cam, I-I’ve got to go back home." Walking past them, Cam headed to the door. Pulling it open, she stepped outside. Lohin hurriedly followed, closing the door behind.

"Cam, wait a minute!"

"I-I can’t be a Fairy! That’s absurd!" Cam muttered, stopping as Lohin called out to her.

"What’s wrong?" He asked her, stopping in front of her.

"What’s wrong?" She asked him, scoffing. "Okay. I just found out that the new boys a Fairy and that I’m engaged to him. Now I’m a Fairy as well?! What next are you going to tell me? I’m a bloody princess?" Cam stopped at her car, pulling open the door, one leg already in the car. "You people are insane. I shouldn’t even had come." She said, getting inside and slamming the door closed.

Pulling out of Lohin’s driveway, Cam ignored Lohin as he chased after her car until she hit the street and speed off. Cam glanced in her rearview mirror and saw Lohin rubbing the back of his neck, watching her drive away before heading back inside. Sighing, she blared her CD player and stopped at the light. Minutes passed and Cam was still waiting at the red light. "Hurry up!" She yelled at the light. Looking left and right she noticed no one was coming, yet the light was still red. She hated when this happened. It annoyed her to no end.

Finally the light turned green and just as Cam was about to pull out into the intersection to take a left. A red and black Kawasaki Ninja squealed to a stop in front of her. "Hey! Asshole!" Cam yelled out her window. "Move!" She was glad she was quick to hit the break or she would of collided with the guy. She hadn’t even heard the motorcycle come up next to her. Showed how much she was concentrating on her surroundings.

The guy pulled his helmet off and glanced at her. "Shit." She whispered, "Lohin?" She asked herself. Damn. He’s got a bike. Great he’s found my weakness. Lohin had just figured out both of Cam’s weakness. Hot guys and street bikes. Lohin had both. Okay, so she was slightly shallow, but how could she not? She wasn’t a good looking girl in her opinion and a very good looking guy told her they were getting engaged. "So maybe he’s a psycho. I can always put him in a white padded room and visit him on weekends." She muttered to herself before cracking up.

Pulling up beside him, the laughter from just seconds before disappeared. "What do you want? Stalking me now?"

"No. Listen-"

Cam held up a hand. "I’ll see you at school. I need to process this rather absurd information you’ve just given me." Letting go of the brake, her car jolted forward a bit. "Or if I feel like it. I’ll call you later." With that she drove around Lohin and his rather hot bike and headed back home.

Cam pulled into her driveway, hurried out of her car, slamming her door behind her and storming into her house. Tossing her keys on the counter, Cam sat at the kitchen counter, the pen she had used to write Lohin’s directions in her right hand as she feverishly tapped it against the counter, biting her bottom lip. "Think. Think." She whispered, "There’s got to be something." Figuring out how to not sleep for the rest of her life proved to be a rather difficult predicament. Tossing the pen, Cam sighed. "What am I thinking?" She asked herself.

Just then Cam’s mom walked through the door. "Hey honey." She said, closing the door behind her with her foot as she placed her briefcase down on the floor near the door.

"You’re home early." Cam said, curling her legs up like a pretzel in the car.

"Meeting got out early." Her mom said, rummaging through the fridge and pulling out a coke. Her mothers addiction.

"Hey mom. . ." Cam said, pausing trying to word her words right. "What happened to dad? Why’d he leave?" She asked. Cam immediately saw her mother go rigid. She knew she was treading on thin thin ice.

See, before Cam was born her parents had met in their last year of High School, eloped at the end of the year and 9 months later had Cam. But when Cam was born, her father mysteriously disappeared. Never seen, heard or spoken of since. Cam’s grandparents, on her mothers side, eventually took Cam’s mom back under their wings to help support her and her new baby. Even though her mom hadn’t attended college, she was able to get a good job as a secretary to a high paying company and over the years moved up in positions until she was a CEO.

Cam’s mom cleared her throat, bringing Cam back to reality and licking her lips nervously. "You’re father left two days after you were born." Her mother stated, "Leaving some stupid note saying he had to return home for business. After that I never heard from his sorry ass again. For all I care he could rot in Hell." Cam’s jaw dropped, Oh my God. She thought before everything went spiraling in different directions and Cam hit the floor hard.
