Dear Diary... 5

Cameron’s detention went by fast, her mind hardly on the task of cleaning out the trash cans through out the school. God. He’s not kidding. He really is a. . . a fairy. She thought, watching Lohin intently.

"Why do you keep staring at me?" He asked her, glancing over his left shoulder to see her, before turning all the way around. He had a garbage can in his hand and was emptying it into the bigger one she herself was holding.

Cameron blushed, eyes looking down at her feet. How could she tell him she was trying to spot any fairy traits that he might have? "Well. . .I. . Uh. . ." She cleared her throat before sighing. "I was trying to see any fairy traits in you." She mumbled.

Lohin smirked, but Cameron didn’t see as her eyes weren’t looking at him. "I’m sorry I didn’t here you." He stated.

Cam sighed again, this time looking at Lohin. "I said I was trying to find some fairy traits in you." She repeated.

Lohin laughed, making Cam blush even more. "I had heard you the first time. I just wanted you to repeat it." He stated, catching his breath.

"You jerk!" Cam yelled, throwing the trash can at him. Lohin caught in, laughing even harder now.

"Come on you have to admit it was funny." He stated, putting the empty trash can back on the floor.

Cam sarcastically laughed, rolling her eyes as she pulled the larger trash can back out into the hallway and back to the Janitors closet.

As soon as Cameron got home, she went straight to her room, dropping her book bag by her door and grabbing her diary. Sitting down at her desk, she opened her diary to a new page and wrote the date down.

Cameron sighed, pushing her diary away and placing her pen down next to it. Rubbing her hand slightly, Cam removed the tension in her muscles that had cramped while righting so fast. God, could she really do it? Keep two giant secrets quiet? For how long though? She never was one good with secrets, she always letting them slip.

Staring at her diary, Cam sighed once more before stuffing her hand in her pocket and groping around. A few seconds passed and she pulled a crumbled piece of paper out of her pocket. Smoothing it out, she glanced at the phone number. Lohin had given her his number encase she wanted to talk about everything. Chewing on her bottom lip, she wrinkled her nose and grabbed the paper. Hurriedly closing her diary and putting it back on her bookshelf, Cam ran back downstairs and grabbed the cordless phone. Dialing the number with slightly shaky hands she waited.

On the fourth ring, Cam was about to give up when someone answered. Cam had to sit down at one of the kitchen chairs to keep her legs from collapsing underneath her. Why was she so nervous? Maybe it’s because I’m calling a friggin Fairy on the telephone. She answered herself as the voice asked ‘Hello’ for the second time. Or maybe it was the third?

"Oh. Sorry." She said, snapping back to reality. "Hi. Um, is Lohin there?" She asked. She could hear the phone shuffle before the voice called out for Lohin.

"He’ll be right here. Hold on." The voice said. It sound female. Maybe his mom?

"Hello?" A male voice said. She recognized it was Lohin’s.

"Hi, Lohin. It’s, uh, Cam. From school?" She said, clearing her throat.

"Hi." Lohin said, "So I take it you’re calling to ask about the whole engagement, prophecy thing?" Cam could hear in the background, ‘You told her already! You were suppose to wait!’ "It’s fine Mom!" Lohin called back to him mom, before returning to Cam on the phone. "That is why you called right?"

"Uh. Yeah." She said, twirling a piece of hair between her index and thumb.

"Do you want to come over? It’ll be easier to explain to you in person. I was going to do it to you after our detention but you bolted.:

"Sorry." Cam said, once more biting her lower lip.

"So’k. Understandable. I could tell I shocked the Hell out of you." There was a quiet moment in the phone conversation where neither one said a word. Lohin finally cleared his throat. "So. . .Do you want to come over?" He asked her again.

"Right. Um. Sure. I’ll need directions though. Just let me grab a pen and paper first." After Cam grabbed a pen and a scrap piece of paper she found on the counter, she jotted down the directions to Lohin’s place and said her good-byes. Hanging up she placed the phone back in the cradle and then wrote a note for her mom telling here where she went and when she was most likely going to be back. Grabbing her keys, phone and wallet, Cam locked her front door and climbed into her car. This is going to be one rather awkward moment. I can see it now. Cam thought, pulling out of her driveway and heading to Lohin’s house.
