Dear Diary...

Dear Diary,
Today was awful! Jessica and her little groupies spotted me in the halls and wouldn’t let up about how I had broken the schools prized trophy. It wasn’t my fault while I was cleaning them, they bumped into me. I'm telling you they did it on purpose. It sucks having to take my detentions with the janitor, sucks even more now that I’ve got to two more weeks of it no thanks to Jessica and her snotty hoes. Ugh, I don’t get what the guys at school see in them? I mean - Hello? I know their pretty but come on, pick someone with brains for crying out loud. Anyway, Mark called me earlier to arrange a time for our date, then called back a half and hour later to say he couldn’t come because something sudden came up in his family. I better have proof of this ‘something sudden’ or I’m going to ring his neck. That’s the third date he’s canceled on me this month. I’m starting to get sick of it. So after he decided to cancel on me I called Megan to see if she wanted to go to the movies with me instead. Two hours later we were on our way to the movies in my car. We picked the funny movie tonight, since neither of us was in the mood for Romance or Horror. Anyway, after we bought our tickets and Megan bought herself a soda and popcorn we headed into the theater. While we were glancing around for seats, guess who I spotted? Mark. With Jessica. I was pretty sure everyone in the theater could hear my knuckles cracking as I stormed up the steps to his row. He had noticed me then and was chuckling by the time I got there, trying to shove a clinging Jessica away from him. He explained that they had met just now and that he wasn’t doing anything, but when I asked him what he was doing at the theaters to begin with, he couldn’t come up with an excuse. So to top of my already shitty day, I poured Megan's soda and popcorn all over the two bozos and stormed out of the theater, a sad Megan in tow. What else could happen to make my life so crappie? Wait. Let’s not answer that. I don’t want to be jinxed. Not now. I’ve got a test tomorrow.
Closing her diary, Cameron sighed. Glancing at her clock by her bed she groaned. "Midnight already? Jeez, where does the day go?" She asked herself as she slipped from her computer desk to place her Diary back on her bookshelf. Sitting back down at her desk, she turned her computer off and pulled out her History book. She still hadn’t studied yet, proving to her mom that she really was a procrastinator like she said.
Two-thirty came and Cameron was sure she had studied enough of World War II history to make her head explode. So closing her book, she stuffed it back into her backpack and changed into her pajamas. Sliding into bed, she set her alarm for 5:30 and shut her bedside light off before snuggling into the covers. Sleep came as quick as lightning and Cameron was out.
Running through the halls of her school, Cameron was taunted by a mysterious male voice. "Come now Cameron. You can run faster can’t you?" At first she had thought it was her Gym teacher but if she concentrated hard enough the voice held a slight edge to it. As if he knew something she didn’t. "Hurry up Cameron. You’re going to be late for class." The voice stated. Just as Cameron ran through her first period’s door, the scene changed.
Instead of seeing her History class, Cameron stood in the foyer of a large mansion. Instead of being in a normal t-shirt and jeans with sneakers, Cameron was dressed in an elegant black gown, high heels strapped to her feet as a silver necklace and earrings adorned her skin. Her hair was done up in a half bun, what was left down curled into ringlets. A feathery mask clung to her eyes, resting on the bridge of her nose as she stepped hesitantly into the light of the room. There were others around her, dressed in similar fashion, there eyes on her. They smiled to her, but something wasn’t right with them. Squinting through the mask, Cameron tried to figure out what exactly was wrong with them, when the same voice from before spoke out.
"What’s wrong love?"
Whirling around, Cameron laid eyes upon the most handsome man she’d ever seen. Short raven black hair was seen peeking through the top of his own mask as he walked towards her. His black slacks clung to his legs, disappearing under knee high boots as a blood red silk top graced his chest. A golden chain could been seen around his neck, his left ear pierced.
"Nothing." Cameron stated, gaping at him. The male chuckled at her state and Cameron shook her head lightly. "Where am I?" She asked him.
"My home." The man responded. "My name is-"
The buzzing of her alarm clock woke Cameron up from her blissful dream, slamming down on the SNOOZE button she groaned. Today was going to be a bitch, working only on three hours of sleep. Fun. She thought, swinging her legs out to the side of her bed and standing. Her mind replayed the dream she had just woken up from. "Wish I got his name." She mumbled, shuffling to the bathroom. "He was pretty hot."
Grabbing two towels from the closet, Cameron placed them on the toilet before climbing into the hot shower. Twenty minutes later, she climbed out, somewhat wide awake and cold. Wrapping one towel around herself and the other around her hair, she headed back to her room. Quickly throwing on some clean jeans and a t-shirt along with her shoes, she grabbed her iPod, cellphone and her school bag. Heading down the stairs, Cameron could hear her mother up and shuffling around the kitchen.
"Morning." She grunted, tossing her bag on to the counter before grabbing a bowl from the cabinet above her head.
"Morning sweety." Her mother stated, reading over the paper and taking a sip of her coffee as she leaned against the counter.
"God mom. How can you be so awake in the morning?" Cameron asked, pulling out the box of Fruit Loops from the food pantry. No matter how childish the cereal seemed, it was Cameron’s favorite.
"Coffee is the key." She responded, placing her cup down to flip the page.
"Maybe I should try it out sometime." Cameron said, before pouring milk onto her cereal and taking a bite out of it. She had ten minutes to finish eating and then she had to head for school or she would be late. Abruptly she downed her food, placing the empty bowl in the sink and grabbing her bag. "Bye mom." She said, kissing the older women on the cheek before heading out the door.
"Are you picking up Megan too!" Her mom called after her.
"Yeah!" Cameron called back, throwing her bag in the backseat of her civic Honda and then climbing into the driver’s seat. Buckling up, Cameron pulled out of her driveway and headed to Megan’s house.
Fifteen minutes later, Cameron was pulling into the parking lot of the school, her brown eyes scanning for a parking lot.
"There!" Megan stated, pointing to an empty spot between a Honda escort and a Jeep wrangler.
Squeezing into the spot, Cameron and Megan hurriedly got out, grabbing their stuff and ran to the school but not before Cameron had locked her doors, setting the automatic alarm on. They weren’t late but only had a minute or two before the homeroom bell rang and they were. "See you first period." Cameron stated to Megan as they went there separate ways.
Cameron made it to her homeroom just as the bell rang. Sighing in relief she slide into her seat and waited for the dreaded announcements to come on.
