"We've only been under fire for three months now, and im not seeing any clear way out." Sweet Sorrow pulsed through his car.
Kimber was at ease. Scotted down into the plush seats.
Evan smiled as Kimber sang along; she seemed so...
Nonchalant.
"So, chinese?" He asked nervously.
"Sure," Kimber smiled up at him, her pink lips curling into that curve that made his heart pound vigirously.
He was thinking of something to say.
But it was clear that the music was filling up the scilence.
And with her hand resting outside of the window, with the cool night air flowing through her pale fingers he settled into the ease.
______________
"What happened with Sadee?" Kimber asked over a plate of rice.
They were sitting at Chef Cheung. This offbeat chinese place to eat at.
The walls were painted a deep red, with intricate details carved into the walls. Painting of mountains and Chinese nature hung on the walls.
The smooth quiet ruch of the waterfull Koi pond in the middle of the resturaunt set a nice mood. The lights were a relaxing low.
He sighed and forked at his lo mein.
"She was too much, its just...So easy being empty. Alone," Evan answed.
He had taken his jacket off and Kimber, with her wandering eyes got to admire his arms.
She felt her heart jump into her throat.
"Thats exactly what I feel," Kimber smiled her eyes amazed.
Evan felt this feeling, it was...Happiness. This...Slow filling of his emptiness.
"People complicate things." He growled.
Kimber was quiet as she chewed at more rice.
So, she was just being used as something to play with? A nasty pang went through her heart.
"So, why am I here? On this date?" Kimber asked, she felt a familar mix of anger and dissapointment course through her.
Evan stared, she had misunderstood him.
"I thought- that...." He paused searching for the correct words.
"That look," He set his fork down leaning over the table.
His leaning caused his face only to be a few inches from hers.
She got a full veiw into his eyes. They seemed to be alive, and feirce.
Evan had to check himself, he was getting lost in the sea of her eyes, they drew him in. Dangerously close.
"That look I knew there was something, I knew you would understand, that we'd have an understanding. That you, you would be like me," His voice was low and husky as he whispered this with such a passion.
He took her pale, small hand into his large tan one.
"Looking into your eyes is like looking into my own, Kimber we are the same, unlike anyone else."
Her heart fluttered in her chest, a filling within her.
And at that moment.
She realized that they were.
