Logan spit into the toilet and flushed it. He sighed and rinsed out his mouth. "You alright?" Brody asked from the hallway. "Yeah..." Logan muttered, "Thanks for bringing me home last night." "Who was that chick?" Brody asked, leaning against the wall, "She was hot..." Logan looked in the mirror, "God I look like death." Brody chuckled, "That would be all the alcohol you had my friend." "What girl?" Logan asked, slightly delayed. He opened the door and looked at Brody. He shrugged, "You tell me, she was sitting next to you whispering in your ear." "Rene?" Logan asked, rubbing his head, "I think thats her name..." Brody crossed his arms, "Is her name really Rene or are you hoping it was someone from your past? She didn't look like the girl in your picture..." Logan sighed, "Her name's really Rene." His eyes widened and he looked around, "She's not here is she?" Brody shook his head, "Like the good friend I am, I pretended I was your gay lover and I swept you away the minute I saw her touch your leg. No one touches my man." Logan laughed then held his stomach ,"Ouch... you asshole, I'm not gay." "Might as well be if you're going to wait around for a girl that I doubt is waiting around for you." Brody bluntly muttered, turned and walked away. Logan shook his head and returned to the bathroom when he felt sick again.
The kitchen light was bright and hurt to walk into. Logan put his sun glasses on and walked over to the table. "You look just as bad as I feel..." Michelle muttered, rubbing her head. He shrugged, "I feel worse than I look." She nodded and poured some of her beer in his coffee cup. "I don't think I can have anymore... I just threw up everything and anything..." He muttered. "It takes off the morning buzz so you can manage the rest of your day... trust me." Michelle explained, taking a sip. Logan nodded and drank what she poured into his cup. His stomach churned and he grimaced, "All of a sudden alcohol doesn't taste so good." She laughed, "I bet." Brody walked in, "Your car's out front by the way, Michelle drove it home." Logan slightly nodded, "Thanks." She shrugged, "No problem." "Hey, I called the airport and the next flight to Florida is tommorow morning." Brody explained. Logan noddded, "I think I'm going to go for a walk." He slowly rose and walked out of the kitchen. Michelle looked at Brody and he shrugged.
Logan could hear the waves hit the beach from where he stood. He walked down the trail and his feet touched the cooled sand. The sun was hidden behind the clouds and the water was calm. There was a girl sitting on the beach, looking out at the water. He walked over when he noticed it was Rene. "Hey..." He muttered, slowly sitting down near her. She looked over, "I don't bite." Logan laughed, "Yeah well I'm still a little sick from the night before so I figure if I'm going to throw up I don't want to throw up on you." Rene laughed, "Thanks for thinking of me." He shrugged, "No one wants to puke on another person especially the opposite sex, it's embarassing." She slightly nodded, looking back at the water. "I'm not gay by the way." He added, trying not to blush. Rene laughed again, "Yeah, I know." "Brody knows what I want and don't want." Logan explained. She raised an eyebrow, looking over at him, "And what exactly is that supost to mean?" He sighed, "I already had the love of my life and I don't want anyone else..." "And how long ago was that?" Rene asked, turning to face him. He smiled, "About six years ago..." She whistled, "That's a long time for a guy to go without... you know." Logan laughed, "I never said I haven't had sex since... believe me, I have. I just... don't want any girlfriends or relationships." "So you just want one night stands? Nice." Rene sarcastically muttered. "Stop assuming you know me." He almost snapped, "Because you don't." "What was her name?" She asked, changing the subject. "Rene." Logan muttered, bowing his head. "Seriously?" Rene asked, crossing her arms. He nodded, "Seriously..." "So that's why you ran off after I told you my name..." She muttered. Logan sighed, "If you knew how close her and I were... you would understand." "All teenagers think they're in love..." "No," He interupted, looking up, "We were in love. No one can say otherwise." Rene shrugged, "So what happened?" "She moved.." Logan explained. "Ooh, tough love huh?" She asked. He shook his head, "It wasn't like that." "Then what was it like?" Rene asked, laying back. Logan cleared his throat and looked back out at the water, "Complicated." Before Rene could say anything else, he rose and walked away.
Rene took out her suitcase and started packing. She looked at a picture of her and Logan that was hidden in the drawer. Rene sat down and she sighed.
"Well this isn't going to work if you keep walking away..." Rene laughed, jogging to catch up with him. Logan looked at her and shook his head, "I don't think you should talk to me." She frowned, "Why?" He sighed, "Because... it's too confusing... you have her name...you have her dark hair, it's too close to home." Rene shrugged, "So I resemble an old flame. Don't let that prevent us from being friends." "I'm sorry.." Logan muttered, I just can't." He turned and continued walking.
