Logan watched as the doctor rewrapped a new cast. "You sure did a number on the other one.." The doctor muttered looking up, "I'm proud of you though, it was very brave what you did." Logan slightly nodded, "Can I see her?" The doctor finished up and rose, "I'll see if I can find out for you what room she's in." Logan watched as the doctor left the room and he sighed.
Rene tiredly opened her eyes and looked down at her bruised wrists. Finger marks wrapped around each one. A single tear rolled down her cheek and she cleared her throat. There was a knock at the door and it opened then closed. "Who's there?" Rene asked, scared it was going to be Danny. Logan stepped into view with a single red rose. He walked over and sat it on her lap then stood next to her. Rene's lips trembled, "If you weren't there..." "Shh.." Logan whispered, "You're okay now..." She slightly nodded, "Thanks to you." He shrugged, "I did what anyone would've done... protect the girl they loved." Rene weakly smiled and closed her eyes as Logan kissed her forehead. "Is it bad that this whole thing made that easier to say?" Logan slightly chuckled. Rene started to laugh but then cringed in pain. "Sorry, no jokes..." Logan whispered, tucking her hair behind her ear. "I probably look terrible..." Rene frowned, looking down at her lap. He lifted her chin with his thumb, "You look beautiful Rene, you always do." Logan bent over and kissed her gently, avoiding hurting the bruise on her mouth. The door flew open and Rene's parents quickly walked in. Both their eyes were filled with fear and her mom started crying. "Oh Rene!" She cried and rushed over. Logan stepped back and watched as her parents crowed around her. He left the room, giving them their privacy.
Logan got some water and sat outside the room. He took a few sips and looked to see a little girl with burns across her face staring at him. He smiled, "Hey there pretty girl, do you need something?" She smiled, "You're pretty too." He chuckled, "Awww thanks." Her mother was standing behind her arguing with the nurse at the desk. "Is that your bear?" Logan asked, noticing she was holding a teddy bear in one hand. She nodded, "Daddy got it for me after the accident." He tried not to frown, to avoid making her feel like she was hard to look at. "Well, I'm glad you're okay." He finally spat out. Her mother looked back to see her daughter had been talking to him. She jerked the little girls arm, "What did I tell you about talking to strangers?" The little girl frowned and turned away. "And you should know better." Her mom grumbled at him. Logan slightly shook his head and rose from the chair. "If you were a good mother, you would see that you just pulled on one of her burned arms..." With that said, Logan pushed Rene's door open and walked in.
Rene looked up and smiled, "Logan, you're back." He smiled, "The one and only." "Logan?" His dad repeated, "As in Logan the guy that saved you?" She slightly nodded and her mom rose. "Thank you.." Her mom cried and hugged him. Logan smiled and hugged her back, "What else was I supost to do?" Rene's dad walked over and shook Logan's hand. Rene smiled and watched as her parents crowded Logan. Eyeing his hand her dad frowned, "Did that happen tonight?" "No actually that happened acouple days ago, I had to get it rewrapped though after I broke the window at the house.." Logan explained. "Well thank you for what you did." Her dad slightly smiled then looked back at Rene, "We're going to go get some coffee honey, we'll be right back." Rene nodded and watched as her parents left. "Well, I guess I don't have to worry about your parents liking me..." Logan smiled, walking over. Rene laughed, "I guess not." She leaned over and gave him a quick soft kiss.
