    "Your parents usually not come home when they say they're going to?" Logan asked, swatting away a masquito. The crickets chirped loudly and Rene kicked her feet in the warm pool water while sitting on the edge. She shrugged, "They called earlier and said they were going to stay for the rest of the weekend and come back on Monday..guess they were having too much fun." He slightly nodded, "I see..."  Rene sighed, "Do you have to go pretty soon?" Logan looked at her, the pool light's reflecting off his dark hypnotizing eyes. He shook his head, "My mom doesn't care where I am.. apparently." She looked at him and raised an eyebrow, "Care to explain?" Logan smiled, his lip piercing shimmering in the moonlight, " I don't want to scare you away..."  Rene soflty laughed, "You don't scare me Logan... what happened?" "I went to jail." He bluntly answered, staring at her, "I broke a guys nose for throwing a glass bottle at my head." "And your mom played a part in that?" She asked. Logan smiled, "He didn't press charges but she insisted I stayed in jail for the night... to 'teach me a lesson'." Rene smirked and playfully pushed him, "Thats hot." He laughed, "What?" She shrugged, "I think that's hot..." "That I went to jail?" He asked, eyes growing wide with surprise. Rene blushed and laughed, "Yeah, some girls are attracted to the bad boys..." Logan smiled and shook his head, "Is that why you liked Danny?" She looked into the pool and got quiet. "Sorry," He sighed, "I didn't mean to bring up a sore subject." 'Stupid..' He thought to himself. Rene shrugged, "I honestly don't know what I saw in Danny... it wasn't his abuse thats for sure.." She rose, "I'm going to get something to drink, you want something?" "Water?" He suggested, looking up at her. Rene slightly laughed, " I wasn't talking about that kind of drink but okay, water it is.." She started walking back to the house and he jogged after her. "Then what drink were you talking about?" He asked, grinning. Rene winked and went into the house. Logan ran his hand threw his hair and sheepishly laughed.

 Danny sprayed his hollister cologne all over himself and fixed his hair. "Where are you going now?" James asked, looking back at him. "I need to see her..." Danny sighed, "I can't stay away anymore..I need to see her." "Alright dude, you're officially border line crazy.." Ronny muttered, very annoyed. "Why? Because I fell in love and you'll never have that?" Danny asked, narrowing his eyes. "I will destroy your little love when I tell her about that bet.." Ronny threatned, "Stay away from her!" "Why do you care so much?" James asked, looking at Ronny. "Because," Ronny snapped, "Look what the bitch has done to him in the span of a week of knowing him.." Danny pushed Ronny, "Shut the fuck up, stop talking about her like that!"

   Rene danced around her kitchen while drinking her fourth watermelon smirnoff. Logan laughed, "Don't drink too fast.. I'm not cleaning it up when you puke.." She gasped, "You think I'm a lightweight!" He shrugged, "I never said that.." "But that's what you were implying.." She laughed, taking more sips of her drink. Logan watched her slowly dance in a circle around him, "C'mon dance with me.." He shook his head, "I don't dance." "Aww c'mon.." She whined, "You have to dance with me.." "I don't have to do anything.." He laughed, pushing her away a little. Rene sat across from him and chugged the rest of her bottle. She sighed and sat the empty glass down, "This shit's not strong enough, I'm going to search for something else.." She slid off the stool and skipped to the cabinet next to the fridge. Logan sighed, "Rene, I couldn't help but notice you wanted to drink after I mentioned Danny... tell me that's not why you're drinking." Rene looked back at him, "No. It's not." She walked back over with a bottle of vodka from the fridge and a warm bottle of Captain Morgan. "You're really trying to go all out huh..." He laughed, glancing at the bottles. She smiled and held them up, "Want some?"  The doorbell rang and she sat the bottles down. Logan watched as she drunkily skipped around the corner and to the front door.  He heard the door open then there was whispering. "I'll be right back , don't go anywhere." She called out before she shut the door.

   Rene moved her hair to one side of her neck and crossed her arms, "What do you want?" Danny sighed, "Baby please talk to me... you don't even know how sorry I truly am, I've never gotten that way before.. I just.... I don't know what happened.." "Maybe you should seek professional help?" She shrugged, turning to go inside. "It was all a bet.." He muttered, knowing that would get her attention. Rene let go of the handle and looked back at him, "What was all a bet?" "You and me... the guys bet that I could get into your pants... I agreed because I didn't think anything about it.. then I fell for you Rene.. and I couldn't do it.. " He explained. She narrowed her eyes, sobering up real fast, "Excuse me?" Danny frowned, "I know what you're thinking... but I didn't go through with it so that means something right?" She nodded, "Yeah, that means you lost a bet.." She opened the door and slammed it behind her. Danny stared at the wooden door and bowed his head.

   Logan looked up from the table to see Rene walk in, there were tears in her eyes. "Rene," He softly muttered, rising from the stool. She shook her head, "I don't want to talk about it..." She grabbed the vodka bottle and Captain Morgan bottle and Logan grabbed her hands. "Don't... it will only numb the pain Rene.. it doesn't make it go away.." Logan frowned. Rene looked up at him and a tear rolled down her cheek, "Yeah.. well what if I want to be numb." He shook his head, "You don't want that.." "Why not!" She yelled, tears quickly fell from her eyes now. Logan sighed, slowly rolled up his shirt revealing cuts across his now masculin abdomen. He looked back at her, "I tried making myself numb... and look how well that worked out..." "What... why?" She frowned. Logan let his shirt fall back down and he shrugged, " I was younger and dumber..." "You're not dumb Logan." Rene mutterd, returning the alcohol to the cabinet and fridge. "And you're not dumb either so don't stoop to that level, tell me what happened." He followed her into the livingroom. She plopped down on the couch, her eyeliner and mascara now running down her cheek. Logan sat next to her and turned to face her. "That knock at the door... was Danny." She explained and Logan sighed. "He thought I had the right to know that his stupid friends made a bet that he could get into my pants...." She continued, "I guess he thought if he was honest that I would give him another chance.." Logan shook his head, "Now he's dumber than dumb and you deserve better."  "Like you?" Rene asked, looking into his eyes. He stared in shock at what she just said. Logan shrugged, "I'm not that great... besides.. I ugh.. I have a girlfriend." Rene slightly laughed, "Figures... all the great guys are always taken." She rose , wiping the tears from her eyes, "Well, I think I'm going to go to bed." "I'm sorry your night was ruined.." Logan whispered, giving her a hug. She smiled and hugged back, "I'll just sleep it off, don't worry."  He smiled, "I'm not, I trust you." They walked to the front door and she opened it. After walking out and down her porch steps Logan looked back at her, "Hey Rene..." She looked up, "Yeah?" "Do you believe in love at first sight?"  He asked. Rene smiled, "I do now. Goodnight Logan." She shut the door and turned off the porch light. Logan stood in the dark, his heart racing. He cleared his throat, "Good night."
